I took a gun safety course with police trainers a while ago. Was really good... but you get some really odd people. One person asks how many hand guns he could buy in a month... why do you need to know this? Was he planning on buying 20? It just sort of freaks you out :(

but most nuclear arms owners are perfectly reasonable people merely exercising the right to defend their property.

"If you outlaw nuclear warheads, only outlaws will have nuclear warheads."
Which is why America is a fucked-up place either way
In Europe, of course , everyone has long understood that the problem is solved by reducing the number of outlaws. The extensive welfare/social programs/free education as a form of hidden unemployment etc/ are in fact explained selfishly, ie. "i don't want to live among dregs and would gladly pay for it".
But in America a question like "should guns be legal for protection when going to a movie theater" make perfect sense, and people are having seemingly meaningful discussions about it.
Of course not seeing the root of the problem, which is the byproduct of their social model, where 10% are outlaws, 60% are functional illiterates and the rest are religious fanatics of some kind

"Firearm availability and homicide rates across 26 high-income countries."
Hemenway D, Miller M., Harvard Injury Control Research Center, Harvard School of Public Health, Boston,
Result: In simple regressions (no control variables) across 26 high-income nations, there is a strong and statistically significant association between gun availability and homicide rates.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubm…
"Firearm availability and unintentional firearm deaths, suicide, and homicide among 5-14 year olds."
Miller M, Azrael D, Hemenway D., Harvard School of Public Health, Department of Health Policy and Management, Boston, Massachusetts 02115, USA.Conclusion - A disproportionately high number of 5-14 year olds died from suicide, homicide, and unintentional firearm deaths in states and regions where guns were more prevalent

"Guns in the Home and Risk of a Violent Death in the Home: Findings from a National Study"
CONCLUSION: Larger studies are needed to examine more closely possible confounding factors such as the national tendency toward violent solutions, and more information on the type and availability of guns will be helpful in future studies. Nevertheless, the correlations detected in this study suggest that the presence of a gun in the home increases the likelihood of homicide or suicide.

"less guns = less gun violence sure, but not less violence which is the core issue."
Finding a cure for AIDS will cure AIDS, sure, but it won't cure all diseases. Best not to bother curing AIDS.

Why is the chick with the 3 month old and the 4 year old in the theatre lying about what happened?
-Her boyfriend dropped the baby and left her and the kids.
-Her boyfriend jumped in the car and drove away.
-Another guy helped her and the kids.
-That guy got shot in the leg putting himself between the kid and the bullet.During interviews, she neglects to mention most of this. She also said that it was her who put pushed the kid and got shrapnel on her leg, totally omitting all other facts.
Orignal account, also plenty of videos of them telling the same story.

After it is know what happened, the story takes on a different tone:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/colorad…She's obviously trying to cover up her boyfriends cowardliness and their bad parenting.

Ignorance is believing because a person does not have access to a gun that they will get over whatever made them want it in the first place.
"Fuck this guy, I'm gonna fucking kill this bitch, get my gun... What? They're illegal now? Oh that mother fucker is lucky guns are illegal, I'm over it."
yeah, that will never happen.

I can tell you one thing for sure, it will eliminate all impulse shootings. You know, flip a guy off in traffic and get your head blown off... insult someones wife at the bar and get your head blown off... go to the store for some Skittles and get your head blown off. All non-premeditated gun crimes will disappear. If guns were actually illegal, it would take days/weeks/months to find an illegal gun dealer, and you can bet the angry person would have cooled off by then.
These clowns reaching for their gun every time they feel even mildly threatened are incapable of correctly assessing a situation.
If someone THINKS they need a gun, they are too stupid to own one.
