- I love these tutorials man :) Thanks for doing it!Fabricio

a lot of stuff made in c4d, sometimes you can see their setup

- Perfect! Now model some zombies. The rigging should be easy. Just do anything.CyBrainX

Came up with an idea on how to use that Extrudifier setup I mentioned earlier. Using it to quickly generate Cities of The Future!
All of this was built using only a single plane with 10 x 10 segments. Drop it into the Extrudifier modifier and play with the settings to get the correct scale and level of detail. Convert *that* into a regular editable object, then add it to a further Extrudifier setup to get the greebling on the verticals.
Add some sunlight then render in Vray. Give it a bit of colour correction in Ps and you're sorted.
- Nice! Could make some great vertical slums type things with this - is there any way to add in some sort of angle modifier?detritus
- ('angle modifier' - spot who doesn't have a clue what he's on about...)detritus
- I love the way the colouring on this makes it look like laser-cut paper, with slightly grubby edges. I wish I'd spent more time messing with 3D over the yearsdetritus
- Only drawback is that it creates bucking in some of the geometry.face_melter
- I get you, it's just a Python script with some sliders to control the detail. You can adjust the height along with the inner/outer spacing to create ziggurats.face_melter

- Oh my. Now you've fone even further into the future.detritus
- this looks great, I'll try it!feel
- Hah! Bucking noise be damned - we have upgraded to Vray 3.4 in the office and the denoiser works like a fucking charm.face_melter

Exciting:
http://tachyonrender.com/news/20…
"Tachyon Render is a realtime renderer for Cinema 4D that fully integrates into the rendering pipeline. Using physical based shading, Tachyon Render focuses on highest possible image quality. Users can scale from realtime feedback to high quality multi-sampling that trades realtime render times for better quality.
Tachyon Render is currently under development. We are planning the beta launch in the first half of 2017."

Here's a pet peeve I've had for years.
Is there a way to prevent the Top, Right, Front view panels from switching to a Camera view? I do this by mistake once an hour. I want to C4D to save me from myself.
We should be happy, not sad.
- instant panic attack watching your viewport do that zoom to camera thingwhere_am_i

Maxon has started a new labs thing-type-deal, where people can submit various plugins and scripts they have created and let people download them for free. Choice is limited at the moment, natch, but maybe worth keeping an eye on.
I'm trying out Extrudifier, a script which adds dynamic greebling to objects.

Had someone pull out of a project due to time (album artwork and video that was very close to finished). Luckily he's happy to pass over the files.
Any one know where I could find freelance C4D artists to take over?

Though moho has a bit of an amateur feel to it... it's surprising easier for 2D stuff than trying to utilize C4D

- That looks like After Effects with the puppet tool. I wouldn't use a 3D package for that.CyBrainX

I think this will be quite useful to a lot of people! Light and render your scenes in Cinema 4D the easy way. No need to use an external renderer to get super realistic results.
- Sorry guys for not having a preview but for some reason linking didn't give me the usual preview within the post.phobos79
- thanks for posting this, great tipwhere_am_i
- Hmm, the catch is render time. It's time for some GPU rendering native in C4d.fruitsalad
- Yeah render times can be long but if you play around with noise reduction your golden!phobos79

It's been a while since I've used the External Compositing Tag and I can't get anything out of it at all. All I want is default position information for clone elements. I went beyond that to create a test file with one cube that has an external compositing tag. When I extract in After Effects, all I get is the camera. Am I missing a step?
I'm using R17.
- > You have to put a null as a child of the object you want to track in Cinema 4D. But that only tracks your main clone object as if the cloner were disabled.CyBrainX
- I looked at this tutorial but I don't think aec files work anymore. And this doesn't work with CIneware. https://vimeo.com/83…CyBrainX
- you have to import the c4d file into after effects, throw it on a new comp and then click extract from the cneware plugin, it will extract any camera, light..feel
- ... or external comp tags you have, and it won't work on a cloner, unless you break it into multiple objectsfeel
- Yeah, I'm not getting the info from the cloner. I'm going to have to do what I want in C4D. It's amazing they haven't worked this out yet.CyBrainX

More livestream action! Covering Adobe fuse, modeling, mixamo rigging and some cloth dynamics.

X-Particles works with the hair texture. Learning curve is a few hours.
