To defend alot of those clothes, most of them are of high quality... It depends upon which brand you are looking at. I have independent jeans that are industructable, yet I have split jeans that would get shreded in a second. Also if you look at hoodies, say from droors or burton they have a lot of tech features and stylish design. Also stores like that don't carry the higher ends of lines, A because a company won't sell them to a box store, B it's not really suited for their targets demo.

I understand that the usability and research prob did help alot... but my points where addressing that the actually design looks like a flipping AE/GAP site.
I do like how the navigation is etc...and the journy.. but it is just way to boring, and doesnt even fit Pac Suns image.
And the other thing I was just a bit ticked at was MR. spout his mouth off with stuff like he just came out of high school.
10 bucks says he is a jr and just wanted to brag for his company and needs to grow up a bit

The site screams mall!!!! If the astetic of the site reflecte more of the industry maybe you could increase your sales by appealing to more of the core skaters tastes.......It just bugs me when the syle of product isn't represented in medium that it's sold by.

don't get me wrong, I've read his book and I agree with a lot of his user experience stuff...but his head disappeared up his own arse several years ago..and has yet to see the light of day again...

I hate to say this, but with each reply you continue to position yourself as simply a cog in the wheel, rehasing what is filtered down through management.
While it's great that your search engine rankings have improved, and that sales is up what does that have to do with the visual design?
If I search Google for "stereotypical middle-america mall rat uniform" and find PacSun, has the visual branding, or lacktherof aided in this process?
I don't think so.Maybe the branding will change in the future, but in which way? Will the look of the stores change to reflect the website?
In my opinion, what a roundabout way to make a change, with probably more than 200 retail outlets at least across the US...
Wouldn't it have made more sense to have the site reflect the look of the stores - the black and the yellow and the kind of industrial look of the stores - since that's where people mostly know PacSun from?Or, would it make more sense to launch an overall rebranding effort across the board to match store changes with an updated website?
Certainly a website that looks nothing like the store save for that tiny out of place logo has the chance of confusing shoppers when there's really no similarity between the two.

Also C!RCA can sue for misrepresentation of their logo. That's just lazy....

aren't most of their stores in malls. Yes, that's where the 13-year-old-trucker-hat-buying-g... shop to impress themselves.
look familiar?
What will pac sun do when skating goes out of style again?
