A friend is back from a week long business trip to Mexico... We are going to do a bbq to celebrate it (any excuse is good to do a celebration) and prepare our interpretation of mexican food...
We've got a ton of wine and beers too, and a bottle of this nectar of gods
Tomorrow morning bike ride is not going to be easy ;)

Anyone know of good shredding services in NYC? 2 med sized boxed worth of old papers I'd like to get out of my life. Feels good to finally do this Spring cleaning
- Burn it. Burn it with fire.i_monk
- i_monk you're totally into something. My folks have a house & yard, I could make a fire therebklyndroobeki

think it's finally time to sell my baby...
I have a dog so I want a hatchback. However I do not commute much anymore. And I can't make up my mind on an impreza wagon that gets good mileage, looks good but might not be so fun to drive, or a 2013-14 wrx hatchback which is like 7500 more which I think is the best looking wrx made and is more fun(plus the sound of a stage 2 cobb exhaust..). OR a 2014-15 outback which has more clearance than impreza and hp and could be all around good where my wrx suffered on some camping trips...
Am I going to regret going with a car that is quite gutless in comparison too a stage 2 wrx. Or am I old enough not to care and enjoy the savings on fuel and maintenance... got some really 1st world certified tough decisions to make.
- Awww... Beautifull car, It has to be painful to get rid of itOBBTKN
- im kind of sad, but i put 178k miles on it... funny how little changes like a dog make you rethink the logistics and change something you said u never woulddeathboy
- babied the car. i know every little parking lot ding on the car from all the hand waxing and care. I'll probably sell it to some dumb highschool kid that blowsdeathboy
- it up trying to race it.deathboy
- man. that's a tough one to sell.inteliboy
- And yeah, get something something with good economy. + I'd get a wagon. Personal thing, but hatchbacks just look like hairdresser cars to me.inteliboy
- this look hairdresser? https://s-media-cach…deathboy
- get a Volkswagenautoflavour
- I have an outback. love it.
I couldn't fit in the impreza, tiny inside.Gnash - a friend of mine picked up the crosstrak and is happy with it so farGnash

- Hatchbacks 4 life. I can never go back to a regular truck. Too bad the WRX's are not available in a hatch anymore.section_014
- *trunk, not trucksection_014
- I was in a similar place, I went for a forester. Fits heaps in the back and you can always drop WRX springs and shocks in and they still have decent clearance.slappy
- Gnash can u toss the seats down and sleep in the outback. I have looked briefly at the forester. I saw cobbs still makes stuff for XT vs i think. Just seems boxdeathboy
- y. seems like it might roll a lot, but guess with good suspension maybe not. I'll have to check those out and see what years have good bodiesdeathboy
- oh yea. forester is taller too. Would probably need a hitch rack. Do those get annoying at all getting in and out?deathboy
- I have a 2009 outback. The seats lie pretty flat there seems to be tons of space, but i'm 6'4" so have never considered it an optionGnash
- the newer model outbacks are bigger. the 2009 was the last real 'wagon' it seems.Gnash
- Sweet little car. Does it come in a men's model?BustySaintClaire
- thanks gnash you tall bastard. still doing a pros /cons thing and deciding. I expect to have it as long as a kid. Still leaning towards a 2014 wrx hatch. Becausdeathboy
- e i love the sound of a cobb exhaust, and i want to do some road trips and have the power to pass assholes on single lanes roads who dont use turnoutsdeathboy
- ya, the outback sure doesn't have the kick of a wrx, but when I drive the 45 minutes on a bumpy path to the cabin in 2 feet of snow, i'm goodGnash
- yea the outback would be nice for the off road camping and photography. what i need is this http://dp.subaru.com…deathboy
- ^ damn, that's commitment. niceGnash

- I'm curious to know what my partner would think if I set up one of these on the kitchen table to build one weekend.detritus

Don't buy lacie rugged drives. They use the most poorly made plugs and disconnect constantly. Even at the slightest touch or bump. Goes for both the USB-3 and USB-C versions.
Have had this problem time and time again with these bloody things. Am at a production company so they are the go-to drive here due to being "rugged". Yeah right.

I hate indecisive clients ffs. I spent 6 hours, and now you want to change the perspective, wtf. I hate changes!!

- on the plus side of being an artist, sometimes I can cuss out my client, and they still want to work with mepinkfloyd
- ohh... you don't thumb out your perspective up front? or do you... and you have an 'out of scope' clause on your contract so you can charge them again? :)PonyBoy
- I made about 5 revisions, and in some cases going back and forth. Then he wanted to change the perspective......pinkfloyd
- Actually, these were somewhat thumbnails, but a bit detailed.pinkfloyd
- I allways try to get a client sign over sketches on landscape or similar illus, to take them as the view i will draw in detail...OBBTKN
- But sometimes you find a indecisive folk like you said, and all the process becomes a mess, you could get more money for the work, but end burnt tooOBBTKN
- Having said that... I feel your pain, stay strong and keep doing great workOBBTKN
- Thanks manpinkfloyd

Is it me or do the RHCP make shit ass music the last two decades..

- The 2-3 note "melodies" and 2-chord songs full album after album. Quite possibly some of the least "musical" music ever made.monospaced
- Normally wouldn't bother me, except they HAVE had some amazing songs, and Anthony fancies himself some sort of singer.monospaced
- Really good up to Mother's Milk (inc. an album produced by George Clinton) but turned to rock wank immediately after. Also, singer is a massive junkie.face_melter
- They've always made shit ass music. I never understood the appeal.section_014

Conundrum: I left a job a year ago in large part because it was going nowhere and had gone nowhere; there was no internal structure or clear path to promotion, and in all my time there they'd never promoted from within, just hired to the positions they needed. Today they listed that position I should have been promoted to. Do I apply?
- Did you leave on good terms or did you leave an upper-decker?kona
- Good terms. I know the client would love to have me back, I got along better with them than my employers.i_monk
- And the job would actually be on site in the client's offices, a 15 minute walk from home vs. 30 mins on a streetcar.i_monk

Close friend landed the director role on the upcoming Captain Marvel movie. While I'm thrilled for her and this amazing career opportunity, this gig is going to take them to LA for a year and a half.
I'm (selfishly) bummed because A: we won't get to hang out for a long time, and B: our kids (toddlers) are best friends who play nearly every day together, and they won't understand why they can't see each other anymore.
I guess it gives us an excuse to visit LA.
