Conundrum: I left a job a year ago in large part because it was going nowhere and had gone nowhere; there was no internal structure or clear path to promotion, and in all my time there they'd never promoted from within, just hired to the positions they needed. Today they listed that position I should have been promoted to. Do I apply?

    • Did you leave on good terms or did you leave an upper-decker?kona
    • Good terms. I know the client would love to have me back, I got along better with them than my employers.i_monk
    • And the job would actually be on site in the client's offices, a 15 minute walk from home vs. 30 mins on a streetcar.i_monk

    • what position will you want to be promoted to in 3 years? and will there be a structure for that? if not then don't go backfourth
