Im starting to post facebook updates as a Donald Trump impersonator for no real reason.

  • section_0144

Old job is contacting me about an unfinished project that no one is smart enough to tackle. Probably because they're too cheap (boss has 2 Merc's and a Jag) to hire someone new.

I'm gonna let them twist in the wind for a while. Then make them cry with the consulting fee I quote. Or, tell them to fuck off. Haven't decided yet.

    Why are some thread deleted?
did I miss some new rules during my absence?

  • GeorgesII-7

"There are more than enough image-based threads as it is. We don't need them for every instantaneous thought someone comes up with."

moderator will all due respect, I thought this was a design forum were any form of visual art is accepted,

triangle, circle, white, yellow, rooad rage, skulls, etc etc, according to you l of these could be deleted too..

Here was I thinking that there were a certain set of rules and everything was permitted as long as these threads weren't toxic and didn't infringe on these set rules.

I thought the rules were simple, you post stuff and if people don't care it gets ignored and the thread die,

it has worked like this for the 15 years I've been here without a single problem, if it's now up to the moderator to decides what stays and what goes even if the threads are benign and will not change anything to the flow of information,

what's the point to have a public voice?

    • lol.since1979
    • why do you actually care?fadein11
    • Then repost it titled as "Associate to Looking Up," not "GUUYYYYYSSSS"Moderator
    • My only input is that unless Benfal himself requested the benfal of the day thread deleted, then whoever deleted it is a raging shitlord supreme.set
    • thanks mod, but it's fine, I just wanted to know why. now I know, I'll move onGeorgesII
    • You're welcome. No offense meant. Just trying to avoid vague thread titles on the occasion they pop up.Moderator
    • oh shush - when they're on the ball they've always deleted shit threads, my own and everyone else's included.detritus
    • ^ yepfadein11
    • Goddamn it set.

A poorly timed sip of coffee while reading your post = cleanup in aisle 6.

Last Saturday I was coming back home around 3:00 AM.
I was drunk, tired, high, on the phone and falling asleep.

Long story short, I hit a corner when I fell asleep for 1 second. I'm lucky I'm ok and somehow the body frame wasn't damaged but I did fuck up one wheel.
Lesson learned. Fucking UBER your ass whenever you are going to drink.

So far the repair is at $1800 but tomorrow I'll know if there's anything else that needs new parts.

    • Forgot to add I'm on a piece of shit rental car ($290 per week).Maaku
    • +1 for not killing someoneGnash
    • ^ yeah, very lucky I was the only one taking that curve.Maaku
    • better to learn the mistake this way than death or jail. sucks man.capn_ron
    • if you're above 23 or so then you're a dickhead for driving wrecked, man. Shit's not funny.detritus
    • tells a lot that you mostly care about the money and your self ahhsted
    • Drunk, high and on the phone while driving... its time to start being an adult.Al_dizzle
    • ^ Nothing happened to me physically. Why wouldn't I worry about something I have to pay? Had there been people involved or something else than damages to my ownMaaku
    • ..vehicle, yes I would care for that as well.Maaku
    • Ha - posts that and expects sympathy - odd.fadein11
    • Where did I say I was expecting sympathy? This is qbn, you get roasted for anything.Maaku
    • How selfish. You preach how drunk driving can affect you and your own money when the more important reality is you could have ended an innocent life or livesletterhead
    • If we're going to base this conversation on things that could have happened, have fun.Maaku
    • Lucky you didn't kill anyone.fruitsalad

    • You're a fucking arsehole.face_melter
    • we've all drove when we shouldn't (phones/booze) but most of us got off lucky and we never really learned the lesson. remember the loss the next timedeathboy
    • im sure most of our best memories come from acting stupid and irresponsibly and getting away with it, be selfish, dont sweat it, just get somethin from itdeathboy

sweet only a 12% increase in health premiums, but at least the hospital (client) is building a new facility for a yoga studio and kitchen to teach people how to cook and live healthy... *facepalm*.

    • prevention is a big dealmonospaced
    • i dont think its a big deal, but the budget to advertise it is huge. its pretty ad council drugs are bad mmmkaydeathboy
    • and seeing how much money is wasted its easy to see where costs could be lowered for consumers. but that isn't on any agendasdeathboy
    • it's a huge deal considering most deaths are from bad lifestyles, and healthcare costs go to covering those conditions that arise from obesity and smoking.monospaced
    • at the same time, I agree, it's INSANE how much money is seemingly wasted when savings could be passed on to customersmonospaced
    • Yea i wish the system wasn't setup so all the ppl who choose poor lifestyles wouldnt pass the burdens on to others.deathboy
    • i just know advertising a salad or yoga doesnt work. the best teacher is when ppl are 100% responsible for choicesdeathboy
    • but maybe more ads for new kitchen will increase co. profits and put a bump in my paycheckdeathboy
    • the price of a new kitchen is likely many thousands of times cheaper than the cost of treating cancer in just a small handful of peoplemonospaced
    • thanks obama?Gnash
    • yea mono but its an unnecessary cost, built only for prestige, not because a desire of customers. a product of removing power from consumerdeathboy
    • easy to blame obama gnash but what made him. its always a power thing, its all fatal conceit with a desire for power, under guise of helpdeathboy

How in the world is a roach in the microwave walking around while it's on? It's literally having a picnic.

Does anyone drink Stella Artois more?

I was given one and shortly afterwards I wanted to steal some hubcaps or terrorise a pensioner.

    Filthy piss.

    • remember in the 90's Stella and Heineken were primo beers in aus?inteliboy
    • seems popular in bars around heredeathboy
    • it's more expensive and a middle of the road beer at best so here it's synonymous with douchebags trying to look fancyscarabin
    • Last time I had Stella was about ten years ago. I can still taste it now.face_melter
    • When i travel to the Midwest, Stella might be the only drinkable thing on tap.shellie
    • @intelli I was in London then but yep, the same!MrT

Why do so many girls wear so much skin toned foundation makeup? It just makes their skin look powdery.

    • patriarchyGnash
    • it's like stucco hole filler for the faceutopian
    • bad lightingsince1979
    • self esteem issuesimbecile
    • I don't wear make up. Maybe mascara. But some people struggle with their skin. Dark spots, scars, acne. Others just like to transform their lookshellie
    • If girls were praised more often by going bare faced, they'd do it more. You wouldn't believe how often girls are asked if they're sick or sad when they're not.shellie
    • It also helps you look more youthful (if you do it right) temporarily. Skin under the eyes darken worth age.shellie
    • But heavy make up right now is a trend i don't necessarily subscribe to save for social occasions. Blame the kardashians.shellie

I was watching some guys pour a new sidewalk outside today. Hispanic guys, speaking Spanish, but they work hard and that takes skill.

Do they not make a lot of money doing that? Because they could easily get $50/hr in the real world if they had a union.

    • which is why i do it myself :/scarabin
    • i'd lay concrete for $50/hour. must be satisfying.capn_ron
    • $50 is too much. I'd say in the range of $10-20 depending on experience and whether they're documented or not.dorf
    • yeah it's prob 20 an hour union, 12-15 hr non-unionsince1979

I still to this day wish there was a law that stated you're allowed to punch fellow graphic designers in the face whenever they complain about their work being 'too hard' etc...

My wife works w/drug addicts and mental illness patients... today her job was simply to sit and watch a patient so she doesn't hurt herself again.

Apparently this patient went crazy on themselves... per my wife: "this poor girl opened up her body...neck, arms, legs, abdomen...with a box cutter...I've NEVER seen such severe self injury before."

Yeah... I'll be over here clicking my mouse, Sweets... see you when you get home ... fuck me... :/

    • It takes a special person to work in that industry and in the ER as well. Your wife is a badass.capn_ron

    • Agreed. At this point I feel like digital design is the best paying easy job around. I can't think of an easier job that pays well.nb
    • Yup. At times things can be stressful but in perspective, not really. Most of the time I get paid to genuinely do what I enjoy to do. Gratitude / perspectiveset
    • People will always complain and feel stressed regardless of what they do for a living.HAYZ1LLLA

I really want a film adaptation of House of Leaves.

Next year i finish paying all my debts, nothing big, a pair of small credits (years a go finished paying my house and 2 cars...).

I've not plans on retirement, in any case, focus more in doing personal works and ride more on my bike.

But, i smell next year is going to be a very reflective year (in fact i already started), hope i can focus on my work and life and not spend all my day thinking on future and shit, paralised thinking on what to do... loved being visceral until now.

Sorry guys, this basque big guy is lost today

    • Curious, how old are you?nb

    • congrats on the debt work. I am in the same boat. next year, debt free then hammer on retirement and travel.capn_ron

Things are so regurgitated over and over and over again that now people reference "synth" soundtracks as Stranger Things music. I keep hearing and reading this all over the place. Sad.

I liked it better when it was -- oh that sounds like John Carpenter, or Vangelis, or Brian Fiedel, or Faltermeyer, or Eno etc. You know, the guys who actually created this shit.

    • truly a sign of getting old. my parents ranted about the Beatles. I'm ranting about synth legends.inteliboy
    • not really comparable thoughset

I still to this day wish there was a law that stated you're allowed to punch artists in the face whenever they complain about suffering for their work or their work not being presented right...

You paint or draw things for rich people to buy. Make things people enjoy but don't pretend it's more than that. If you're not making enough money, get a real job.

Had a client a few years ago that paid their invoices late so I dropped them and they said "ok, good luck" by email. And I haven't heard from them since. I really wanted them to come crawling back and apologise or at least send me some random email.

  • freedom0

Had another client who was in a different city for a few years and then they suddenly found someone who was local. Made sense to hire someone local, but we worked together a lot and I was sorry to see them go. But we haven't talked at all since.

    I am dispensable.
