In Romania, if the president elected by the people is not to the system's liking, then the elections are annulled. The fact that, starting this morning, police in Romania are picking up people from their homes because they have posted anti-establishment messages on Facebook, reminds me of the totalitarian communist regime that I lived under in the first 10 years of my life. Even though I was a child at that time, I still remember very well the fear to think and speak freely. I had hoped I would never get to relive those dark times, but it seems that, unfortunately, history is repeating itself.
