Anyone watching this? So cool to see this guy's artwork turned into a series. I've only watched the first episode, but there are so many beautiful scenes and the futuristic elements and robot stuff merged into wilderness type settings are visually rich and work so well.

Planning to, haven't started yet. Always liked his artwork, seems an odd/interesting idea - I hope they pull it off.

I absolutely loved it ... there is so much beauty in it.
Slow burn Sci-Fi at its best. Episodes 2 & 3 were standouts for me as was the finale. It felt like I was watching a mixture of Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone. Also the soundtrack I thought, had a very similar tone to The Leftovers. Heavily inspired for sure.- Suuuuuper slow. But I'm enjoying it. it has a nice feel. and I love SS's work so much. It's very cool how faithful they're being too it.dopepope
- it is slow ... but I mean we’re all under Quarantine lol what else you gonna do? Now get to making those smoking hot COTD 3D models. Hahaha.Ramanisky2
- Seriously, that was 3D artist's dream job.CyBrainX
- I thought the whole season reminded me of The Leftovers and Lost. The mysterious underground lab reminded me of the hatch from Lost's second season.CyBrainX

watched the first episode. the visuals/colors were all really nice. it's interesting to see the character outfits match the surroundings.
not sure if i will continue it. it was pretty slow.

Just watched E01. Slow-burn, but I like that. Visually, it's achingly beautiful.
Some of the dialogue comes off a bit clumsy, especially with the kids, but it's nothing that really bothers me.
Not a good thing to watch if you're already emotionally compromised, though, the melancholy is on full whack with this show. It was a bit of a tough ride for me.
- "achingly beautiful." Well said! I love the juxtaposition of the technology and the landscapes. That's why I love his artwork so much.mg33
- agreed. and yes, when the girl screams?!
*shudders-it's just so bad/forcedlvl_13 - Get ready to turn that melancholy dial even higher with episodes 2 & 3Ramanisky2

The first episode was a chore. Everything seemed off to me. The music, the acting, the plot. But then I kept watching more episodes and it all pulled together nicely. I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm definitely more likely to enjoy this show because I like Simon Stålenhag's artwork so much. It's the only reason I watched in the first place.
- Kinda of a bummer that many are having this issue with ep 1 because its directed by one of my favorites Mark Romanek.Ramanisky2
- I loved the first episode the most.CyBrainX

Dark >>>>> Tales from the Loop
- dark is bullshit. that show doesn't know what it's doing. it's going to end up just like Lost.sarahfailin

I thought episode 1 was great. Watched it just now. Exactly my type of show so far, but I’m a sucker for slow, purposeful shows (eg, The Killing).

Only 1 episode in so far, the big robots remind me of this guys work.

Episode 4 is a masterpiece.
Ep 1 pretty wierd and off and kinda bad?? Hope it didn't turn too many people away because this show is pretty great.

Can't wait to watch it. Saw the ads last night for the first time. Great to see future tech differently than the typical dystopian future.

Have been a fan of this guys illustrations for years - they are usually what I have as my desktop background.
Great to see these ideas come to life.
Currently on episode 2

Love Simon's work. 3 episodes in, that second episode messed with my head.

I loved the series. Especially the composition of each scene being a work of genius. The color correction and CG work were so stellar. I also love how the period decor, furniture and scenery told the story as much as the plot.
