I think Beeple must have come across this artist at some point.

    liked episode 1 and 2.
skipped through episode 3 in seconds as it looked uninteresting
watched some of episode 4 then just skipped through the rest
    do they get better?

Started this last night on your recommendation mg33. And I’m glad I did!

I’m only through episode 3 right now and I’m thoroughly impressed. 1 was a great introduction to the overall concept, and I couldn’t shake how much it felt “real” in comparison to so many other sci fi attempts. The focus on people and relationships and vast emotional landscapes is powerful and effective storytelling. 2 is when it hits you with your first big consequence. I was hooked.

But it was 3 that got me. So incredibly original and touching. I love how this universe is given to us and we as viewers are forced to take it all for granted, while hints and insights trickle in at just the right pace while humanity lives on as humans do. The big ideas of love and loss and happiness were big and bigger than the science fiction, which is so big it’s hard to ignore.

    Love it. Thanks.

    • Excuse the ramblings and run ons. I barely read over anything as I typed. Haha.monospaced

Just finished the season. I feel like episodes 2, 3 and the finale were the strongest, and that overall they really come together as a single entity very well. I admit I still don't know exactly how to interpret the ending, so I need to give that more thought. Anyone here think they have it figured out exactly what happened?

I hope there is some sort of followup or continuation. I really enjoyed the unique feel of this one.

I've got a few episodes left and I still like it, but you've really got to be in the mood for it. It almost feels like it could be a bunch of Black Mirror episodes, or like a Black Mirror mini-series.

I'm still eager for the payoff. There's some deep meaning to each episode about human connection, dreams, failures, etc. but I imagine my mind is too fried and too exhausted at the end of the day to really absorb it.

Still trying to get through this.

But really if you liked it, you need to watch Dark on Netflix.

    • just saw this thread, and your previous post monk, but dark is BS. the storyline will never resolve, they will just keep broadening the scope til they havesarahfailin
    • to blow it all up and end it like they did with Lost. and it will all have been a dream and deeply unsatisfying. show makes me mad just thinking about it.sarahfailin

Finally got around to watching it and was dissapointed. To me it didn't get the feel of the paintings across and I was hoping it would be stories 'within' that world rather being all about that world.

I guess I was expecting something a bit darker with more drama, it all felt and looked kind of Disneyfied.

    Can't please everyone.

    • I enjoyed the first two then lost interest. Fastforwarded through 3 and 4, nothing caught my attention then haven't watched it since. I expected more too.microkorg

This is kind of a “you had to be there” thing, but last night my wife and I watched the second-to-last episode, and I dozed off on the couch expecting she’d probably watch the last episode and I’d get to it later.

At some point I half-awoke, laying sideways, and looked up at the tv. I saw this:

The first thing I noticed was the barrage of profanity and anger. I was kind of like “seriously? No episode this far had any profanity and it was just so many f-bombs. Then I asked my wife “who is that?” She said “Shia LeBouf.”

I fell asleep again and then this morning I woke up really eager to watch that last episode. We’re laying in bed and I simply said “I can’t believe that was Shia LeBouf last night. And all that cussing? That was so weird.” Again, totally referencing the last Loop episode.

It wasn’t until an hour or so later when I brought it up again, still haven’t watched it, and said “that’s so completely strange that the last episode of Tales from... had him in it, and with all that profanity.

My wife turns around at her desk and looks at me and has this look on her face and goes “That wasn’t Tales from the Loop that was Honey Boy! Did you seriously think that was the last episode?!?!?!

We both just absolutely lost it laughing.
