Except for the immigration issue, almost everything looks like the nightmare I lived through when I was in Turkey under Erdoğan—misogyny, nepotism, anti-meritocracy, cutting funding for social services, dismantling NGOs that hold opposing views, polarization, and cheap populist tactics.
A key part of this playbook is stripping resources from social services and NGOs, only to hand out cash to the public as if he were a benevolent father.
I'm also expecting a massive credit injection and forcibly lowered interest rates. Naturally, most of the newly printed money will go to wealthy supporters, while the rest of us bear the cost.
