VERY interesting way of showing how infection is spread in a small space. Did you know that opening the windows helps? Which leads me to believe that meeting people outside is even better
- literally knew all of this in Februarymonospaced
- bonkers insane how 9 months later certain areas are only JUST realizing that this is airborn and that precautions might be consideredmonospaced
- nice link. thanks.
but don't tell me you just found out that ventilating helps ...d_gitale - sorry, not interesting, because it's how all airborn viruses work, and always have, for all timemonospaced
- but nice websiteSimonFFM
- they had the same infographic website style in march or so for same topic but with data from china: a plane, a bus and a restaurant.uan
- i might have posted it and that‘s where mono got his knowledge from.uan
- d_gitale I knew being outside was better, but I thought moving air was bad.Projectile
- High airflow is always good, unless it's simply recirculating in a closed space, in which case - probably not good.
Fresh air good.Nairn - I've had a couple of 'minor engagements' with people on the bus over shutting windows, or my opening them when I get on.Nairn
- "I don't give a fuck if you're cold - it's Autumn in London. Dress appropriately".Nairn
- @uan, I got my info from logic, not your post. Same principles we use to combat any airborn disease have been common knowledge for centuries.monospaced
- Back in January, when China was locked down and world events were being canceled, this info was distributed everywhere, including world leaders.monospaced
- @nairn 'minor engagements' ha, I've had a fair few of those this year alsofadein11

Wedding and Birthday Party Infect 56, Leaving Nearly 300 in Quarantine
Long Island, New York, health officials scrambled to contain a coronavirus outbreak in Suffolk County when dozens of people tested positive for the virus after attending a high-end Sweet 16 party in September that violated state restrictions on gatherings.

Yikes, the French are now only allowed to go outside for 1hr. Wtf
- We had months of that in Melbourne.BusterBoy
- We live near the border with France, and thousand of them have come to buy booze and tobaco to Basque Country, for weeks...OBBTKN
- Not good, but if we want to stop this, we need to totally stop for at least a month... We've been on lockdown for 3 months, for nothingOBBTKN
- That sucks so much. Get a treadmill? Not as bad in winter to be inside all the time but I'd go a bit crazy.NBQ00
- On one hand nationwide lockdown sounds extreme but seems like people will still be allowed to go to work, kids are still going to school?yuekit
- It's not the total lockdown you had in some places. I wonder if it will be enough to piss people off, not enough to actually stop the virusyuekit
- Belgium will probably be next.ApeRobot
- It seems it's the only way to break the second wave. But maybe it's too late already. I wonder if the USA watches what is going on over here...Longcopylover

- I only go out for 30mins in LDN anyway. Shithole of a place, with scum 3rd world not wearing masks properly and looking like 'No-Face's from spirited away.shapesalad
- @ApeRobot Isn't no Flemish Belgium already on lockdown (2-3 weeks before France) ?********
- maybe its better to protect/distance the people over 65 in this phase and not shut down the economy on and off all the time cause our generation must pay for itapi

- Ah, shapesalad. The fine English man too good for London hehe :)NBQ00
- its beside lockdowns the only alternative if the goal is not to have the hospitals filled up.api
- @i_was That is one the main problem, such a small country with two communities fighting for power and unable to speak from a single voice.ApeRobot
- problem with shutting away the 65+'s is they have worked hard to retire and now want to get out, not be 'fastened' inside their homes.shapesalad
- I really fed up... You can go to work, school is open and transport is crowded with people... But don"t go out please. Macron is a maretting man not a president.D4W33D
- *marketingD4W33D
- @shapesalad true, they do not want to give up their freedom for a given time. but the alternative is that we all will loose freedom + puplic retirement money.api

Closing stores, bar, restaurant, curfew,...... But the public hospitals are full because not enough material, people, rooms...what about the private one's?
Blocking drugs that works because big pharma groups want to sell a vaccine.
People who are afraid are a people who are dominated.
This is fucking bullshit.

^ I'm getting really fed up with people like this.
People aren't afraid, they're being sensible and respectful so as not to kill the less healthy people around them.
"The People" aren't being oppressed, the govt. is enforcing the will of the majority, just like they do with gangsters, rapists etc.
- to be clear my ^ arrow was pointing to ApeRobot's post.Projectile

I have a close friend who has been going deep down the rabbit hole lately. One of those who lost their job, so is not truffle-sniffing for any evidence that it's all fake and we should go back to normal.
His main point is that the virus isn't bad at all, and testing is useless, but Big Pharma are using testing to inflate numbers and make billions off selling testing and vaccines. (don't get me started on how a vaccine that doesn't exist yet has apparently been proven to kill everyone it touches)
Is there a video / website / document out there that I can show him that sums it all up, and preferable has proper references etc?
- you will struggle to change the mind of those who have gone deep down a rabbit hole. I think I managed to pull a close friend from the edge this week, it'sfadein11

FC Barcelona facing bankruptcy due to Covid if players reject pay cut: https://en.as.com/en/2020/10/31/…
Last time these multi-millionaires rejected a 30% cut of their salary. They’re so fucking arrogant and spoiled.
A nurse probably earns $40K-70K per year and these rich assholes can’t do a pay cut (and still earn insane amounts) in this crisis.
It’s not just Barcelona players, it’s the case with many other big clubs where these spoiled athletes don’t want to have a 20-30% pay cut.
