- That took me by surprise, I must admit! Most important thing is that all the engines lit and stayed lit 'til second stage separation -Nairn
- - afaik, thta's never been achieved before at this sort of quantity. Certainly, the Soviets never managed it.Nairn

- I know we're jaded, but you can't get this from an iPhone. I'm familiar with this dude, and his setup is fucking insane.garbage
- He's got multiple telescopes, has essentually built his own private Hubble. I'd be scared to breath around his gear.garbage

- No love for this? India will have someone on the moon before 2040, I reckon. The cost of this mission here was less than the production budget for Oppenheimer.Nairn
- Brexit Britain should pal up with ISRO - not that they need our help, in fact, the opposite, so best get in there whilst we're still relevant.Nairn

""We found ten spherules. These are almost perfect spheres, or metallic marbles. When you look at them through a microscope, they look very distinct from the background," explained Loeb, "They have colors of gold, blue, brown and some of them resemble a miniature of the Earth.""

It's amazing to me how utterly perfunctory most SpaceX launches have become. This mission*, from just now, is an ISS carg0 support mission and the rocket was used for a fifth time, landing successfully, the 198th successful landing of an orbital rocket.
There's not a single other company or organisation that has even accomplished this once.
*heck, why even call it a mission any more? It's kinda like those thousands of chumps climbing Everest and insisting on calling the jaunts 'expeditions'.

* Note: I don't know if it's the final color, but it's very "dark", closer to what Alien anticipated, rather than 2001 space odyssey... it gives me negative connotations.
- OK. Uh. No. Despite the presence of the fluorescent orange here and there, wouldn't something that dark get lost against the blackness of, you know ... SPACE?Continuity

- I would've thought that purely physically it'd be simpler and more preferable to have white suits, but I don't think it's a major concern to not have them so.Nairn
- i'm curious to know why they've gone this route - presumably there must be a reason? I think practical restrictions like visibility are moot...Nairn
- ..if the suit's that far away and doesn't have energy/etc, they're fucked anyway. could do some cool things with LEDs or eLight inserts and such.Nairn
