50 mins of darkness, but it feels like 15
- I liked the first episode but wasn't crazy about the second one. Honey Bunny from Pulp Fiction couldn't be cheesier as a cliched villain.CyBrainX
- ^yeah, Honey Bunny was a bit much.
I also think Raffaella's character is way over-acted this season... however, it was cool to see Warf againPonyBoy - Seeing Worf was the most exciting thing as far as I was concerned.CyBrainX
- This series is kind of a waste of time.Continuity
- trying to find things that can be loved.
I'm the only one who finds it too dark? not the story :) and how are they doing that it feels like its 15 mins? HOW?!%sted - I wanted to say I love the USS Titan, but I actually don't. That would have been the only thing to love, and even that was taken from me.Continuity
- The exterior of the Titan is rubbish.i_monk
- Yup. It's a horrible, horrible kitbash of at least three different design languages.Continuity

Can't remember if I bragged about this yet but Patrick Stewart lives a few blocks from me.
Maybe we'll be friends one day "hey neighbor! How're ya enjoying this heat wave" that sort of thing
- "Get off my lawn" - yelled Picardutopian
- He doesn't have a lawnnb
- Well, at least not in the frontnb
- That's good bragging. I used to live across the street from Elvis Costello and in the building next to where Jimi Hendrix lived.CyBrainX
- Please tell me he's a dog person.garbage

WTF, Q was never a "villain". *sigh*

Sorry, I'm not going to subscribe to yet another all access pay channel with three watchable tv programs to watch this.
- Well ... I didn't, either ...Continuity

It was ok. I didn't love it, but it could have been worse.
My two big complaints are that — *again* — the stakes are artificially high (all life in the galaxy going to be wiped out!!!!1!!one) and, like so much of modern television, it was much more plot-driven than character driven. I don't really feel like I know any of these people after the first series, much less care about them.
@PonyBoy: I suspect Picard now being an android is kind of an insurance policy for CBS. As you said, the man looks very frail and, when he goes, they always have the option of continuing the series by regenerating Picard into a more youthful android body (kind of like Doctor Who).

loved it...
Are they making another season? Dude has aged... now he's supposed to be all robo-card (more youthful)... don't see how he could pull it off... he seems so frail these days. :(

There have been 32 seasons of Star Trek in total. I think this one is almost at the top of all of them.

Surprisingly good season. Took a few episodes to get there. But once it ramped up...
hated the ending. But, whatrya gonna do?
- Akagiyama1
Well, that was an AWESOME season!

- I love Picard but this is worse than the Shaq shimmy gif.CyBrainX

My best chum was surprised at how non-plussed I was about this, given that much of our friendship was founded decades ago by our love of ST:TNG (and ..er.. cannabis...).
I'm just not giving a shit about TV or Movies in advance, as everything gets so hyper-inflated by expectation (mostly the internet's, not mine) so by the time it comes around I'm often a bit deflated by the reality.
This way, I don't give a shit and if it's good - great, if it's not, bleh.
.
I hope it's good - I wasn't in the 'Discovery is teh evilsss!' camp so unless they've made some serious missteps, I think it'll be fun. Or not, I don't care. I do, obvs.
- I saw the first episode.
It's not ... offensive.
But it's not great, either.Continuity - that first episode of Picard, one minute they're in france, next they're in San Fran, oh look, they're back in france ... stay in one fucking country please!Bluejam
- I saw the first episode.

Yeah, so the character breakdowns for the new Picard show are out cos they're starting casting:

Fucking meh. This doesn't sound good at all.

I'm in a stupid status meeting now and haven't even had a chance to watch this but I'm too impatient to wait 10 more minutes.
- set1
It'll be him in a futuristic geriatric ward, pissing up walls and telling carers he made number 1 so...

God I just really hope CBS doesn't fuck this up and let Picard become some sanctimonious reflection of our modern ails with off-brand speeches or hyper-obvious social parallel stories, because he's one of the great all-time characters in science fiction.
- Captain Picard was always sanctimonious.jtb26
- ^ No he was on point almost every time and a welcome contrast to Kirk's "cowboy diplomacy".CyBrainX
- I've been wrong about the definition of sanctimonious this whole time. I thought it meant preachy, didn't realize it also meant hypocrite.jtb26
- He was preachy - and I'd expect based on his statement that they will more than likely try to apply Picard's morality in a way that is relevant to society todayjtb26
