Star Trek: Mass Effect
Clunky expository dialogue.
Lens flares everywhere.
I'll download it anyway.

The whole Klingon business was hinted at on DS9, and more fully-explained (read: retconned) on 'Enterprise' (which was a rancid turd of a series, anyway):
- And, strictly speaking, Worf's look is simply a continuation of the new Klingon look introduced in The Motion Picture (1979).Continuity
- That's true. That Enterprise episode explained how it was a genetic disease. That show was way underrated.CyBrainX
- Ugh, no it wasn't. It was fucking awful.Continuity
- Klingons were in that one? I didn't think we saw them until Wrath of Kahn.ETM
- Yes, I'd seen the DS9 Tribble episode but I didn't know any of the other stuff.Wolfboy
- @ETM: Klingons were in the opening sequence of TMP, when they were trying to take out V'ger. The only Klingon references in TWOK are in the context of the ...Continuity
- Kobayashi Maru scenario at the start of the film, and it only re-uses ship footage from TMP.Continuity
- Not only were the Klingons in the Motion Picture (briefly) but one of them was Mark Lenard. He was the only actor to be Vulcan, Romulan and Klingon.CyBrainX
- Oh, yes, that's right!Continuity

So what is the Klingon history?
In the original series they look pretty much human, by TNG they look like Warf but in this and the Chris Pine timeline they are kind of inbetween.
Is there a reason or should I just sit back and suspend disbelief?
- Could be the JJ timeline. I'll watch the trailer again.CyBrainX

So it's in the JJ Abrams (aka Kelvin) timeline? Makes sense I guess, aligning with the current silver screen offerings.
- Anyway, who cares. I'm not buying a CBS All Access subscription.ETM
- Actually, from what I've read in many sources, it's meant to be prime timeline.Continuity
- Sure doesn't look like it. The tech, the Klingons etc.ETM
- The trailer says '10 years before Kirk and Spock'....set
- Kirk and Spock don't exist in the Kelvin timeline, Set? Amazing.ETM
- The fuck are you talking aboutset

- Saying it exists 10 years before the original series doesn't tell us which timeline. I suspect we'll eventually see that it's not the original timeline.CyBrainX
- Nah, they're putting down too many prime TL easter eggs. For example, there's wide speculation Tyler's kid will grow up to the the Albino from DS9.Continuity
