Viral Alarm: When Fury Overcomes Fear
In July 2018, the Tsinghua University professor Xu Zhangrun published an unsparing critique of the Chinese Communist Party and its Chairman of Everything, Xi Jinping. Xu warned of the dangers of one-man rule, a sycophantic bureaucracy, putting politics ahead of professionalism and the myriad other problems that the system would encounter if it rejected further reforms.
Although he was demoted by Tsinghua University in March 2019 and banned from teaching, writing and publishing, Xu has remained defiant. His latest polemical work—“When Fury Overcomes Fear”—translated below, appeared online on February 4, 2020 as the coronavirus epidemic swept China and infections overseas sparked concern around the world.

The Chinese are a plague
A large fleet of 260 Chinese fishing vessels are in the waters surrounding the Galápagos Islands, off the coast of Ecuador. Galápagos is a sensitive, protected Unesco world heritage site, as is an area of 188-mile radius surrounding it.

Thought this was an interesting discussion...this guy is critical of the current Chinese government but he also against the situation devolving into a new cold war, and talks about how some world events were seen from the Chinese side.

Xi Jinping is using artificial intelligence to enhance his government’s totalitarian control—and he’s exporting this technology to regimes around the globe
"China’s ascent to AI supremacy is a menacing prospect: The country’s political structure encourages, rather than restrains, this technology’s worst uses."

'They just pull up everything!' Chinese fleet raises fears for Galápagos sea life.
Jonathan Green had been tracking a whale shark named Hope across the eastern Pacific for 280 days when the satellite transmissions from a GPS tag on her dorsal fin abruptly stopped.
It was not unusual for the GPS signal to go silent, even for weeks at a time, said Green, a scientist who has been studying the world’s largest fish for three decades in the unique marine ecosystem around the Galápagos Islands.
Alarm over discovery of hundreds of Chinese fishing vessels near Galápagos Islands
But then he looked at satellite images in the area where Hope was last tracked – more than a thousand nautical miles west of the islands – and noticed the ocean was being patrolled by hundreds of Chinese fishing boats.

The transformation of China into a surveillance-dictatorship with Nazi gulags in the past 5-10 years is quite something.
On top of that they started isolating themselves, banning all foreign news, internet and tech. Putting a boot on Hong Kong and flexing their military powers in the South China Sea.
It has many parallels to the Third Reich and maybe we will see a big conflict with them in the next years.
