I binged devs over the weekend and thought this scene was great. No real devs spoilers in the scene.
- We watched it over the past couple weeks and I completely loved it. Want to see more shows like this.mg33
- I saw this actor (the old guy from David Fincher movies) in a very dramatic role in a play and he BLEW MY MIND. He was so good. Like, haunting me later good.nb
- And I thought, it's interesting that small roles in movies are filled by extreme talent because they can nail their scenes... fast and efficient.nb

"Indian government bans an additional 118 Chinese mobile apps
Apps including Ali Baba’s payment service ALIPAY and gaming app PUBG have been banned amid border tensions with China. In June, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok."
India just doesn't give a fuck man, not like the Western countries...

A fake letter attributed to the National Informatics Centre (NIC) directing a ban on Chinese apps in India is doing the rounds on social media. This comes in the wake of the India-China standoff in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley, as calls for boycotting Chinese products rise across India.
However, we reached out to NIC officials who confirmed that the letter is fake and no such order has been passed by the organisation.
- they just say that these aren't safe. while: Modi govt to set-up App Store alternative to Google Play, Apple App Store and considers pre-installed gov apps.sted

- I think it would end up like the US invasion of Iraq. They might pull off the initial military operation, but after that it could be a complete disaster.yuekit
- There’s a book about this. Basically due to the tides, weather and distance it’s be very hard to sustain an invasion and occupy Taiwan.shapesalad
- Once first troops land on Taiwan, the supply and support chains to maintain them and take control of Taiwan would be very hard to setup.shapesalad
- The Taiwan army would instantly distrust the Chinese armies supply and support network. Who would also be battling the tides and weather. Allies would alsoshapesalad
- Help. Any troops on Taiwan would face a fearsome local population. Most guys have done time in the army due to national conscription.shapesalad
- The mountainous inland area would be a rebels playground and very difficult for any army to take. Ask the Japanese about that.shapesalad

China enstated a new law to avoid sensitive Exports. cctv anounced. It could be a reaction to US ban on Huawei and tiktok.
Can they just work together, we all loose if they fail.

- Epoch Times are all produced by a religious movement called the Falun Gong.yuekit
- Falun Gong I think was legitimately persecuted in China, but they also have a lot of insane beliefs. It's unfortunate the overseas dissident Chinese movementyuekit

- not really. not yet. will attack financially and politically first.shapesalad
- true. its not financially worth it for military action.pango
- at this point, china doesn't need Taiwan. they're doing great on their own. However, gaining Taiwan means easier access to the pacific.pango
- This was a good documentary. I still wonder about what would happen after China takes over Taiwan. You can speculate about whether they can pull off militaryyuekit
- invasion but what about the aftermath? It's one thing to put down protests in a city you already control (i.e. HK), another to take over an entire country.yuekit
- And at the same time facing fallout from the entire world including possible war. Maybe it will happen eventually but seems like the cost would be very high.yuekit
- via military probably if they run outta patience. Politically, it's going to be tough. the dislike for china amongst taiwan's population is preeeeety high.pango

In January, the Chinese city of Wuhan became the first in the world to undergo a lockdown to fight the coronavirus pandemic. In many ways this crucial period remains a mystery, with few images escaping the censors’ grasp.
A new film by the Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei helps fill in some of that missing history. Although now living in Europe, Ai remotely directed dozens of volunteers across China to create “Coronation,” a portrait of Wuhan’s draconian lockdown — and of a country able to mobilize huge resources, if at great human cost.
