"British politics has finally cut all links with normality and drifted off into absurdity. In the Commons a moment ago Labour’s Rupa Huq described the decision to call off the vote as an act of “premature parliamentary ejaculation”. In response, Theresa May said that, if Huq were to look carefully, she would see that May is not capable of premature ejaculation.
God knows what they make of this nonsense in Brussels ..."

"The UK government has spent almost £100,000 of taxpayers’ money in the last week buying Facebook adverts in a bid to convince the public to support Theresa May’s Brexit deal – only for the key vote to be delayed."
- Imagine how much money has been wasted since the whole farce began.PhanLo
- Keep that number in mind, x by 10 add £1b x by 27 = the loss of GDP in Brexit Britainshapesalad

- Just goes to show how much of a big wank Brexit has become.shapesalad
- Has become? It’s been a waste of time, energy and resources from the beginning. It’s a never been a narrative that I associate with building a decent countryIanbolton

A protestor failed to set fire to a European Union flag during the Brexit Betrayal march - because the material is flame retardant.
The material initially catches fire, but is soon extinguished as cheers of 'burn it' from onlookers turn to boos.
After a few more attempts at setting the flag on fire, the would-be firestarter sits down on the bus stop roof to take a closer look.
He appears to hold a lighter against the flame resistant material for a moment longer before jumping down from the roof.
- quite a few amusing stories coming out of that shit march.fadein11
- A metaphor for Brexit? lolKrassy
- Loads of red faced gammon warriors. Hope once Brexit happens we can have flammable curtains again.PhanLo
- Hope their march pushed a few more leave voters into the remain camp and politicians start to see it for what it is.shapesalad

Observing this from overseas...sorry maybe a dumb question but how is it possible that half the country still supports Brexit after the shitshow of the past few months?
What outcome are they hoping for from all this, considering that every analysis shows the UK will be various degrees worse off after leaving?
- Economically you're correct. However, there is an underlying UK 'pride' that regrets becoming part of the common market in the 1950s because...Morning_star
- ..we lost control of our borders and legal system and there was too many 'foreigners. This view is mainly held by the older generationMorning_star
- we hate johnny forinner and want rid of him at any cost.hans_glib
- fecking euros coming over here telling us what we can and can't do - it's TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. feck off out of it!hans_glib
- It's not about being better / worse off for 'leavers'. The EU has been successfully blamed for many of ours and Europe's problems and only leaving willFax_Benson
- give an opportunity to fix that.Fax_Benson
- which may turn out to be true - but nobody thought about the process of leaving, what replaces membership and what comes nextFax_Benson
- Seems to me the greatest aspect of EU membership would be the chance to live and work in 28 of the best countries in the world.yuekit
- that'll still be possible, tho there'll be more paperwork involvedhans_glib
- Seems slightly insane to throw that all away when there are people literally risking their lives in boats (and dying by the thousands) to come live there.yuekit
- agreed, but that appeals to people with a European outlook. Others see FOM as greasing the wheels of mass immigration.Fax_Benson

"This simply cannot stand. The Irish really should know their place."

"The European Parliament on Wednesday approved an accord with Japan that has been dubbed the world's biggest trade deal, covering economies that represent a third of the world's GDP.
The agreement will go into effect in February and was celebrated as a victory for Europe as a free trade champion in the face of US President Donald Trump's protectionism and Britain's decision to leave the EU."
I'm sure the UK can get a better deal once it's free of those pesky EU bureaucrats!
- 'get a better deal' and enjoy the pesky GB bureaucrats instead.uan
