A friend of mine is moving to San Diego and I was wondering if someone can recommend a few places to go for 'fun' and other 'cool' places to hang out. Tnx

Cue the San Diego QBN Meetup, boys!
- is he a designer?Miguex
- I made a wild assumption. Very wild.studderine
- We usually have less designers at the meetups anyway. P.S. Hey Miguex and studderine/smooth-ecapn_ron
- That's right capn_ronstudderine

San Diego is full of hot dudes, check out the gay bars.
- This guy likes hot dudes and knows where to go in San Diego.studderine

seriously, there are so many good places. put us in touch with your friend and we will show him/her a good time. The crew we have down here can break dance battle any other QBN crew and destroy them.

What's up my fellow SD QBN brethren? I miss you guys!
We need specific requests here in order to help. Are you looking for food, drinks, scenic vistas, entertainment, meeting ladies/dudes, nightlife, hipster-y type stuff, outdoors activities? I could go on. We've got it all.
- San Diego has the biggest selection of craft breweries and tasting rooms, so thats a good start.brandon_phillip
- Yep, SD's breweries are always a good start to an evening. Bottlecraft, Green Flash, Stone, Societe, etc.MondoMorphic

Get ready for bars with 1 woman and 20 dudes. It's Man Diego up in here! In spite of that constant, there are some fun places.
My (very generalized) $.02:
Little Italy has some fun places like Kettner Exchange, El Camino, and a few more coming on line soon. It has the best male/female ratio in the city in my experience and the girls are generally decent.
Mission Hills has some good restaurants and bars. Cute girls too.
Hillcrest has some fun places. It's San Diego's gayberhood.
Northpark has good bars with granola, husky, beer-drinking women.
Southpark is smaller but fun. The women are still generally husky though. Hamilton's is fun.
Downtown is where most of the nightclubs are. Some are decent, if you like that sort of thing.
La Jolla has some good restaurants and decent bars, but is generally sleepier.
Encinitas is all swingers, divorcees, and bitter married couples. Some fun places though.
Del Mar is mostly cougars. It's the cocaine and boob job crowd.
Pacific Beach has fun bars with college kids and surf hippies.
And there are some other, smaller pockets that are fun. Again, just get ready for a lot of dudes. haha
- great description, that's it.
thread closedMiguex - God I hate Del Mar bars. Solana beach has a couple good ones on PCH.HijoDMaite
- Check out North County's brewery and gastro pub scene too.HijoDMaite
- Sadly accurate on every account. Also makes me realize how little I get out to see these things nowadays.nocomply
- Though I think Encinitas has a little more to offer than just swingers and divorcees.nocomply
- You forgot to generalize Normal Heights. Are the women there husky too? I haven't been looking.nocomply
- great description, that's it.

I lived there for 16 years. I suggest Ocean Beach. Grab a burrito at Nico's on Newport Ave and head 2 blocks to the beach. If you want adventure, check out Market Street in National City.
