I'm happy that my diehard atheist boss is saying that this has nothing to do with religion,
if even him can start to see through the bs, we have a future about ending all these conflicts- what was it about then?monospaced
- It's about, power, territory and revenge mono. Terrorists use religion as a guilt free cardgoldieboy
- I get the money and power thing. But revenge seems like it is skewed toward the religious side, no?monospaced
- It's not like Charles Hebdo represents a warring entity, it's just a foreign publication. Why exact revenge on them?monospaced
- surely not for territory... they explicitly said it was because of religious beliefs.monospaced
- So many factors, and yes terrorists will say religion is part of the package. Territory wise, people now believe, even more so, that terrorists can strike anywhere and at any time...goldieboy
- so, that they can strike anywhere and at any time... That's a win for terrorists and territory (mental and psychical)goldieboy
- It's not about religion. Atrocities are done in the name of religion, but the real reasons are as George said.iCanHazQBN

The wars in Iraq are not wars against Islam. They are about oil, money, power and control over the region. I'm not defending America, the war in Iraq is wrong. But to say it's a war on muslims is to ignore most of the rest of the current events in the world.
- Do you think the families of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed in those wars, by Americans and Brits, care about the distinction?i_monk

I can't see how anyone can compare war zones to France. That's just nonsense and sounds like you are trying to justify terrorism.
No one is saying the West hasn't fucked up a lot of the world. But that is almost irrelevant when looking at innocent people gunned down in the middle of a peaceful city.
It's all wrong. Killing is wrong. But massacring innocent people is beyond comprehension and simply terrorism. I don't know what the reason, it's terrorism. Period.
Go hold Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz accountable for war crimes, I am all for it, but don't mix up the issues.

Doubts raised over authenticity of Charlie Hebdo footage
http://bbc-news.co.uk/doubts-rai…
Whilst numerous theories have sprung up concerning this and other details, the general consensus among not just sceptics, but some major news agencies, is that the entire event was a ‘False Flag’ attack perpetrated by the CIA and/or Mossad in a “psy-ops” exercise to rouse hatred against Islam and support for what has been so far, a failing campaign in Iraq, Syria and the Middle East.

Being offended over 'cartoons'. What childish behavior (minus the killing part).
- being "offended" at all over anything is childish.iCanHazQBN

@georges
they're not criminilising this... where did you read this? Its just signs that someone you know may be in some sort of radical thinking.

There are a few hadith (supplemental teachings) which have explicitly prohibited Muslims from creating visual depictions of figures.
