C'est parce-que les gens qui ont perpétré cette attaque, sont cons, et n'ont aucune idée de ce qu'il font.
La bêtise humaine dans toute sa splendeur.

^^ Don't think that makes any difference whatsoever any longer formed. Vile messages of hate appeal to the disaffected and the speed at which they can be transmitted pretty much makes attempts to decry violent acts by a minority as meaningless.

A Christian beheaded a guy just a few weeks ago for practicing witchcraft (playing AD&D). It's easy to see that sort of things as non-representational, isolated, or chalked up to mental illness, when you're surrounded by the religion/culture that breeds it. Don't trust fundamentalists of *any* religion – they're all waiting for a chance to kill you for their god.
- Also this guy

Besides the silly pic above, here's a brief rundown on some of the leaders marching for freedom and free speech.
King Abdullah of Jordan, which last year sentenced a Palestinian journalist to 15 years in prison with hard labour.
Prime Minister of Davutoglu of Turkey, which imprisons more journalists than any other country in the world.
Foreign Minister Shoukry of Egypt - enough said.
Foreign Minister Lamamra of Algeria, which detains journalists without charge.
Prime Minister Jomaa of Tunisia, which recently jailed blogger Yassine Ayan for 3 years for "defaming the army"
President Keita of Mali, where journalists are expelled for covering human rights abuses.
The Foreign Minister of Bahrain, 2nd biggest jailer of journos in the world per capita.
Sheikh Mohamed Ben Hamad Ben Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar, which jailed a man for 15 ys for writing the Jasmine poem.
Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, who had several journalists jailed for insulting him in 2013.
Saudi ambassador to France. The Saudis publicly flogged blogger @raif_badawi for "insulting Islam" on Friday.

Regarding other religions, this happened about a decade ago in India..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/200…
"It is estimated that at least 250 girls and women had been gang raped and then burned to death. Children were killed by being burnt alive and those digging mass graves described the bodies as "burned and butchered beyond recognition". Children were force fed petrol and then set on fire, pregnant women were gutted and their unborn child's body then shown to the women. In the Naroda Patiya mass grave of 96 bodies 46 were women. The murderers also flooded homes and electrocuted entire families inside...
Children and infants were speared and held aloft before being thrown into fires. Describing the sexual violence perpetrated against Muslim women and girls, Renu Khanna writes that the survivors reported "that sexual violence consisted of forced nudity, mass rapes, gang-rapes, mutilation, insertion of objects into bodies, cutting of breasts, slitting the stomach and reproductive organs, and carving of Hindu religious symbols on women's body parts."
The worst part is that the current PM of India was arguably involved in letting this happen...most charitable interpretation is that he did nothing to stop it.
- pretty fucked up. The sooner we rid ourselves of organized religion the better._niko
- yeah organized atheism is going to save usyurimon
- You know there's no such thing, silly troll.i_monk
- no but compassion, reason and intelligence might._niko
- true on compassion, but thats kinda Buddhist though..yurimon
- Buddha was a lazy fat ass! Sit under a tree and do nothing all day!pango
- Coooool ... if it happened with other religions... then it's OK... even if the exemples are quite difficult to find.gonzalle

the comparison game is always a good way to make a 1st level statement on a subject. It's graphic, it's easy to understand. But the thing are way more complex than that.

It's just sad and sickening when these events happen in the name of religion.
I have no issue with striking back at the west in the name of Syria, or Afghanistan or Iraq or anywhere else that the west has stuck its nose in, but what gets me is when they brainwash and indoctrinate the masses to believe that this is some kind of holy war in the name of or against islam.
When they shout "allah akbar" just before shooting up a place or a suicide bombing, It demonizes them.
I have no problem if someone someone were to yell "This is for Iraq" before carrying out a terrorist act against the US for example, to me, it's tit for tat and fair game, but this Islam vs the west narrative we get from both sides is just fucked up and leads to more paranoia and death.

Some society are evolving faster than other and that's creating tension between them.
- Some societies invade others for oil and Halliburton contracts and that's creating tension between them.iCanHazQBN

I have to go..
Again, I'm not saying it's right (it's not), but what do you expect? The French were a part of the "Iraqi Freedom" coalition.
50-100 Iraqis die every day
12 French die every 10 years? It's not even close. It's a speck compared to what Arabs deal with. Go cry into your cashmere scarves. Put yourselves into some other people's shoes sometimes.
- And I probably have more in common with the French than any Arab.iCanHazQBN
- Its always hard tallying up lives but yes, v.true. and the peeps who died in Paris had already said they were happy to diefadein11
- I'm a staunch secular liberal (if you want to label me) atheist that has nothing in common with Islam.iCanHazQBN
- for the right to draw bad inflammatory cartoons. As oppsed to the innocent family celebrating a wedding obliterated by a US drone.fadein11

- And even >>I<< can see the sick shit that has been done to the Arab world.iCanHazQBN
- It's just crazy what gets people riled up, while their own governments are committing the worst shit imaginable overseas.iCanHazQBN
- I really have to go. Bye!iCanHazQBN
- < exactly. 12 dead - tragic of course - but like a bad traffic accident. yet the worlds media stops and discusses who is next on the hit list (while families recover - whats left of them - from living in the wrong place at the wrong time)fadein11

The "conspiracy everything" is getting old....
- I will never understand why people have such a negative connotation of the term conspiracy theory. How would you qualify the plan to invade Irak by the bush government, a botched plan, a poor choice, a mistake? no it was a fuckn conspiracy to destroy a countrygeorgesIII
- you qualify the plan to invade Irak by the bush government, a botched plan, a poor choice, a mistake? no it was a fuckn conspiracy to destroy a countrygeorgesIII
- to take out saddam hussein and balkanize Irak, now we can play around the term all day, but it's time to stop pretending conspiracies don't exist or are just a thing of nuttersgeorgesIII
- are just a thing of nuttersgeorgesIII
- There's a difference between questioning governments' true intentions and events actually happening.ORAZAL
- I think that the general consensus is that conspiracy theorists question the latter. In this specific case pablo28's post doesn't help "the cause" at all.ORAZAL
