Shit that people employed as "Head of Digital" at huge clients say.
Major TV network:
"I think this is our logo"

The Head of Digital over here asks me to send him the logo files almost every single month. Never the whole set, just a certain version.
- for yearsmonospaced
- create a draft with 20 versions attached and send him that every timeProjectile
- lord, he should fucking have a folder on his computer with the fucking logos at this pointmonospaced
- and even if I did what you suggest, he'd just keep asking every few weeksmonospaced
- I have to deal with something similar with various people at my company.duckseason

Well, oddly this randomness on their part may be to your benefit...
if/when they start cataloging everything really well, and have in-house knowledge of where everything is, they may call your agency less, and start hiring freelancers themselves and take the whole thing in-house....

What do they do all day then?

they go to meetings, and more meetings... and stand around in the hall before and after the meetings talking on a cell phone or texting, (where the real decisions get made) then go to the meeting and act like it's still being considered even though it's already decided....
...and of course, the real reason they have jobs... they can talk a big game and make brilliant business-case powerpoint reality distortion fields that convince clients and higher-ups to say ok to this stuff...

^ Do people like that think they're doing their job well? Do they feel like hacks?

we techies may have to realize that "salespeople" can be valuable, there is sometimes an insane amount of convincing needed to get businesspeople to sign off on the stuff we do....
...so, while the "head of digital" may seem "ignorant of what a gif really is" but if they can convince businesspeople to say yes, without a lot of "buyers remorse revisions", that's valuable, and maybe even should be in a job description, even if it's not the "official" one, which may be largely supposedly technical even if they have to do lots of ego-massaging and expectations-management diplomacy to the business side to actually get stuff approved and funded and finished.

- smart techies are also realizing the need for life outside their computers.********

I knew there was a reason a company like Google has 47,756 employees.
