we techies may have to realize that "salespeople" can be valuable, there is sometimes an insane amount of convincing needed to get businesspeople to sign off on the stuff we do....
...so, while the "head of digital" may seem "ignorant of what a gif really is" but if they can convince businesspeople to say yes, without a lot of "buyers remorse revisions", that's valuable, and maybe even should be in a job description, even if it's not the "official" one, which may be largely supposedly technical even if they have to do lots of ego-massaging and expectations-management diplomacy to the business side to actually get stuff approved and funded and finished.
