Cool!
Some features I might add:
- Ability to favourite topics, with a tab to access where PV is.
- Dynamic notifications when someone replies to a comment you've made in a topic.
- Dynamic loading/notifications when someone comments on a topic you're in
- Psuedo tags for comments to allow formatting
- Kudos voting on topics/comments, majorly upvoted things are displayed differently (majorly downvoted go to backend mod system for review, but are not removed)

So, who owns this place? Any one have any ideas why they wouldn't want a free redesign?

Not sure who is the strongest backend dev here or what they prefer. I would prefer using some type of Framework, I have mainly worked in PHP and ExpressionEngine takes care of a lot of things what we wouldn't have to build....but please not from scratch.
I like documentation. :D

Let's be honest here. There should not be a redesign.
Some part of each and everyone one of us wants to quit this place and get on with our days. Yes, it's a much beloved site, and many memories have been had, but it's like a favorite grandma. One that's old and falling apart and finally letting all her racism just hang out because she doesn't care anymore. You love her. You want her to be happy, but it's time. She's had a full life and you get the feeling that prolonging things is just... well it's just not what should happen.
We must pay tribute, and honor QBN with a proper send-off. The end should be one of intent, and good cheer. Like all things that once lived, the organic traffic of QBN should disperse into the universal entropy, to later reform again on some other gathering online.

I'm on holiday at the moment, until next week, but when I'm back... let's get on it.
Key focus for me is legibility and ease of use on any device, keeping the comments at the side and the notes feature. Love the notes feature, really adds a new dynamic to the forum. It warrants lolz and fuck you's that otherwise most people wouldn't bother making a new post with.
Lolz, fuck you all.

I dont agree!
The QBN members should stick together as long as possible. I think we're very lucky to have this community since so many years. And we're lucky to have the possibility to talk to so many people from so many different places in the World of all the topics we want.I like you all :D

I like the idea of new members, I think it would be fine with a few moderators. I was moderating here for a few months at one point, using MrDinky's log in. Until the cunt banned his own account to see what would happen haha.
The two of us and the other moderator, who for some reason wishes to remain anonymous, kept on top of the spam. It's easy enough to delete as you browse.
The thought of one day coming here and QBN no longer existing often worries me. Migrating to somewhere fresh and new, with control of it ourselves, is an excellent idea.
We definitely have the skills amongst us to do it..

Key differentiators for QBN:
• Design industry professionals acting unprofessionally
• Creative and personal criticism
• Taste-making close to the source
• Anonymity or semi-anonymity
• Grassroots witch-hunting
• Meta-trollingPain Points:
• Ineffective and low-tempo content curation
• Ineffective and kludgey search
• Spam accounts
• Dog eating is meh as a feature
• No method for self-police-ing
• No method for making improvements
• Meta-trolling- LOL @ "grassroots witch hunting" but so true.mg33
- I love the dog ear feature!Hombre_Lobo
- this is greatfadein11
- meta-trolling...meta... love itfeel
- sounds like this community is free...whats the problem?yurimon
- Another one who doesn't understand the concept of improvementset
- Most of the key differentiators pretty much sum up why QBN is great.grotesk_neue
- I'm a bit afraid that that a change won't be better fpr this place. Often it is, but maybe not for NT. We all love this community for being a little odd and familial.grotesk_neue
- community for being a little odd, trashy and familial.grotesk_neue

Did I ever mention that I put in £50 towards a responsive build of NTC and then they banned me without even a whisper of a refund... ?
One thing I definitely don't want this project to become is a wanky self righteous secret forum that bitches about here...
