The central blue header and shared 'public' icons feel a little lazy.
Also - is this what happens when NTC and QBN get drunk and end up sharing a bed with the zeitgeist?
- oh detritus, detritus, detritus.
It's just a laugh mate. 'Lazy' hahaha. I'm not getting paid.set - you read it as an insult, I meant it as something that coulda done with a little more thought *shrugs*detritus
- jesusfuck, why do you take everything so fucking personally?detritus
- thank you for your kind words, as always.set
- haha, I agree that the icons are not working, but since it's just for fun it's okay to be a little lazymonospaced

So the goal these days is to make everything look like a Windows 8 app?

The placement of the QBN logo is just wrong.

Nice exploration. A little too much color for me, but definitely refreshing.

Is there an Edit button??
Overall, it looks pretty good.
- nav seems oddly spaced
- not sure about the font...lower case here, not here...

Design is getting so predictable. Flat design? Check. Bootstrap style icons? Check. The layout isn't really that different from the current site, all he did was change the styling.
- it's just re-skin you muppetset
- What's the point though, just to conform to the latest style?ukit2
- I was stoned.set
- 'The latest style' = lack of unnecessary embellishment.set
- 2013fredddddd
- The latest style exists for a functional reason though. Most people find plain flat sites easier to use.CygnusZero4
- And they conform nicely to various other devices. When you have drop shadows and shit they dont.CygnusZero4

- Minimalism is great (and nothing new). Just needs more personality and uniqueness I think.ukit2
- Disagree. Let the content do the talking.set

Current homepage has good amount to see at fist glance; EC x1, x6 features, Public x6, etc.
Meanwhile the new layout has about 2 and 2 half features (maybe x4 at max), 2 and half Public. Less contents means I have to scroll first thing.
Plus it feels like I'm on a MS spin-off/acquired company (that blue tile-looking feeling). But seeing as this is for fun... yeh, good for discussion.- In my opinion the whole idea of getting as much as possible above the non existential fold is not relevant anymoreset
- everyone scrolls. I'll scroll all day if it's content I want to see.set
- you can't get it all on one page on a layout that adapts to all screen sizes, set
- why do you need a layout that adapts to all screen sizes? current one works fine... (devil's advocate)monNom

FLAT DESIGN TURQUOISE!

Does anyone start to find that some new templates have better esthetics then custom web design?
- YES! Screw custom sites.fredddddd
- Templates are designed by someone, right?ukit2
- yeah by designers, template editors should be called "template editors"moldero
- Yes, Im saying from majority of design. Before it used be custom design looked better. at least to me.yurimon
- I know what you mean.
And I don't like it.mikotondria3 - Its because good designers are seeing the potential of having a good design sold to many people over and over again.mantrakid
