the fallacy here is when he mentions "real music", as though someone (presumably he and his buddies) hold the unique authority to decide what people should enjoy and what they shouldn't, and if it's something he thinks they shouldn't then it's not "real music".
all dance music needs is a beat. one fucking animal hide hit with a stick repeatedly. all else is wankery. this guy's just angry that people aren't wanking the way he wants

Wolfgang is very talented, I love his music. But he regularly has a cry about the state of "EDM"...I saw him live the other night and he refused to play one of his own songs that the crowd was chanting for and then a few days later was bagging out various other acts on facebook/twitter. Dude takes himself too seriously.
Maybe he needs to join QBN, because obviously his shit doesn't stink :P

So this guy makes middle of the road deriviative house music and then complains about the state of music. I mean its not terrible but pretty much electro house by numbers. Sounds like he listened to some Deadmau5 who in turn ripped off some French house from 5 years ago.

every year somebody comes with some anti trance manifesto, let the simple folk have their simple folky dances, they are the ones producing and listening to that crap anyway
We just had a coronation of the new king here and fucking Armin van Buuren was playing some wank with and orchestra and the king needed to be behind the decks ... you can imagine how I feel about EDM these days, fuck em, make noise in your bedroom on a laptop and get it out there and don't hate on stupid pop music

We're still dancing to the music that we used to like.
I watched some of the WMC this year and even though I like a really wide spectrum of EDM, there were some music that my body rejected but the young crowd seemed to like in a fashionable way.

The EDM thing is only really a few years old...it's a label marketing people slapped on the current set of producers who are more or less copying what other, better artists did a decade ago, but for a younger audience.

'EDM' is an odd thing looking from outside the US, especially talk of it being a few years old. I mean, some of us were turning vegetarian to this stuff 20 years ago...

Here's my two cents. I think your only job as a dj is to make people dance. I spun all through high school and college. Highschool I was playing a local under age night that was known for hard house. When I went to college...no one liked that shit. So I had to play a lot of 80's stuff, and took them by baby steps along a journey further into house, or stuff that I would actually like to play. Point being...at the end of the day, you just have to make people dance. Why so serious, its just a bunch of kids just wanting to dance, and they like drops. Relax, have fun, help them have fun...and making money off of it isn't too bad of a job. At the end of the day, spinning music is a service industry.
