lol @ let's see a portfolio...
as if someone who isn't a chef isn't allowed to say some food tastes like shit.
the stuff is art, hardly design, it communicates little to nothing.

@fadein11
I think its good to have these conversations to what is design and what communicates. Its not hating, its just another point of view.As I said before his stuff looks great but I'm not sure it communicates as well as it could do.

I think I have a different understanding of "Genius"... having grown up surrounded by physicists and mathematicians.... there was often talk of how some people's main insight came before age 30 and afterwards is mostly a variation on a theme, whereas some other people's insights came over a lifetime and were more varied....
In either case, the tendency to "fashion" is less in that world than in design, with the possible exception of string theory....

Good spirited design chat on the whole - pat yourselves on the back QBN - we were on subject for once.

Live and let live?
He didn't ask for the skewering here, so why do a lot of you feel compelled to give it to him? Personally, I think it's great to see such a young designer (he's only two years younger than I am) have such a volume of work that a lot of love clearly went into. He's probably not trying to work for Thompson-Reuters or McDonalds. He's clearly found his bliss and as someone who is in the process of doing that himself, i can tell you it's a freeing and joyful feeling - and you definitely stop worrying about what other people are saying.
This thread sounds like a bunch of cranky old ladies complaining about the dress length of what 'the young girls are wearing these days'.

Really like this stuff.

Is he dead? Buy his stuff and then make sure he dies, that's where the money is. ツ

Nice Work, but not the greatest
The thing that impresses me is his ability to experiment, and his designs have a sense of freedom, and are not controlled by the client. This is what I imagine alot of our portfolios would look like if our clients would just let us design and actually CREATE. Guess I need to find those kinda clients.

the work is good. the amazing part is how much there is and how consistent it is.

As a 26 year old designer myself, this guy makes me feel like I'm absolutely shit. I work in digital specifically, but nonetheless I can't but definitely feel a sting of pure jealousy at his obvious talent as one designer to another. He's probably a really nice guy too.
Bastard.
