Never Forget?palimpsest - 23 January 2019
Never Forget?palimpsest - it's a process:
https://www.gob.cl/p…uan - I have no idea what 10.nov nor 23.jan 2019 happened btw :-)uan
- I have no idea how a new constitution erases the coup. The other two dates are Bolivia & Venezuela. Like you said, it's almost been half a century.palimpsest
- doesn't erase the coup, but the laws left over by the dictatorship. and it's done by democratic means.uan
- I guess that's the neutral way of looking at it. :-)palimpsest
- you can't change the injustices done by the empire. but the majority of survivors on both side want something better for the next generations.uan
- and by better I mean with peaceful non-violent means.uan
- now, all the murderers from the pinochet army we sent to work for black water in irak and afghanistan are losing their jobs. this is gonna be a new problem.uan
- hope they earned enough to get retired in florida with the other fascists.uan

- My daughter is 6 1/2 and this is the first time I've talked to her about any of 9/11. The innocence of a child asking "did a lot of people die?" made me tear upmg33
- She also couldn't understand why the terrorists would do what they did considering they killed themselves in the processmg33
- It's hard to know what is too heavy of a subject for a little kid.mg33
- I remember this that day like it was yesterday. 9/11 will forever be ingrained into my being.utopian
- I live right by the Nixon Library. They have a huge piece of one of the towers on display. Must have gotten some of it my eye. Very moving display.lemmy_k
