Just a question...
If a movie goer had a weapon with him and brandished it to stop the attack, would he be a hero or just as guilty? Based on reactions to the face eater thread I would say "hero" will be the consensus but that ends up contradicting the resulting desire to ban guns.
- that's the level of reasoning i would expect from a 10 year old.lowimpakt
- unless you're sharing an example of poor reasoning and cognitive bias?lowimpakt
- i'm asking a legitimate question, your inability to answer it places it well above 10 year old rationale as it is a common occurrence in crimes.albums
- common occurrence in crimes.albums
- the point of the question is the reaction to guns on qbn is related directly to who holds it, never the gunalbums
- no one wanted to ban guns in the face eater thread, said it was a good thing.albums
- new crime, new decision? reactionary laws are good for people? no.albums
- face eater was shot by a POLICE OFFICER what kind of shitty comparison is this?ernexbcn

Some new info from CNN.
The guy has a web of trip wires in his apartment hooked up to all kinds of explosives and the police cant get in. There's also a timer hooked up to it all so that if he didnt return by a certain time it would blow and destroy all forensic evidence.
The police dont know how long the timer is set for. The police said they might need to use robots to manually detonate them if it doesnt go off on its own.
Right out of a movie.

They also said even with his knowledge in neuro science he was unable to find work and had to take a job at McDonalds.
Sounds to me like he grew lonely, disheartened and lost, wanted some notoriety and punish random people, and planned to flee after he did this but got caught behind the theater since it was just a couple blocks from the police station. The place was surrounded by the time he was done shooting.

This girl was gone within an hour of these tweets. Such a shame.

What's funny (and not so funny at the same time of course) about this whole thing is he killed 12 people in under 2 minutes, then told the police he was the Joker.
In Dark Knight it took the Joker a much longer time to end up killing like 7 or 8 people.
- What a clever and interesting observation. Please keep 'em coming.Sep
- I'm so glad nobody said "shit is cray" yet. That would be fucking insensitive. Whatever that shit means.oey
- Im pleased you found the senseless humor in it sep. Spot on analysis on my part. Thanks.CygnusZero4

It's weird how they diffuse his image with that smirking smile.
Just got the courage to turn CNN now.
Couldn't stand to watch it before.
Fucking insane.
His house...
Neighbors, families, children...
One has a knot in his throat and then that fucking picture.
Some people in the interviews are talking so calmly like this was their every day life. Damn, you need a fucking strong stomach after witnessing and living that.

Victim: Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring TV presenter, was one of the 12 people shot dead in the massacre. She was tweeting about her excitement at seeing the film until moments before her death

^ Doesnt work. Try it. You need to have paperwork from the police with an authorized license number on it for you to actually receive a weapon from them.
- This guy went through all that paperwork. It takes a while. They do background checks on you.CygnusZero4
- And if you notice, it says you have to call to purchase.CygnusZero4
- all you have to do is buy it direct or through a gun shop, very easy.albums

@albums the face eater was shot by a police officer, not a random civilian that happened to have a gun and be around the scene.
Guns should be on the hands of authorities, not on the civilians, in my opinion. Unless you want to live in the wild west or something like that.
- hmmm and who protects you from corrupt police?georgesIII
- that's why we have laws, or do you act upon corrupt cops on your own? don't think soernexbcn
- @ernexbcn yeah because laws are deterrents. look at our nations drug laws & tell me how they deter.antagonlsta
- they keep 99% of people from doing more stupid things. This idea that the civilian "knows best" is such bsformed
- we are not talking about drug laws, I'm all about legalizing, that's a whole other discussionernexbcn
- law states I can own an automatic weapon with the right paper work. conversation over then.albums
- he shot a mentally ill unarmed citizen, not the cops i want around me.albums

he kind of does look like the Joker
