Apparently the guy's own mother knew as soon as she heard about it that her son was involved. If you know your kid is THAT fucked up and has the potential to harm other people but do nothing to stop it – I can't help but think you're partially at fault.
- you can't stop it.albums
- I agree, Gucci.monospaced
- you are misreading the quote. when she says "You have the right person", she is referring to herselflocustsloth

I think if the "Founding Fathers" who penned the Second Amendment would have second thoughts if they saw how reckless people were with fucking guns today.
This is fucking insane.
It's far too easy to act on psychotic impulses.
Pussy cowardly shooter.

^ Founding fathers thought it was a good idea to have the right to bear arms. They weren't talking about handguns, fully-automatic assault rifles & smoke grenades. They were referring to muskets that took minutes to load and reload and that were questionably accurate and reliable. If they were around today they would probably be shocked at how their words were twisted.
- The NRA, The Right Wing Gun Nuts, Republican's and Fox News all disagree with you!utopian
- I know that, utopian. They also disagree with most rational thought.monospaced
- believe it or not, i got a robo-call from Wayne LaPierre of the NRA this morning. Nice timinglocustsloth
- Founding Fathers always weren't counting on a standing army and needed an armed populace for a militiaTheBlueOne

i hope no one will have the "great" idea of throwing a smoke genade in another theatre just to scare people. some people like to "play" with those events. stupidz.
- benfal990
- i digress, sorrybenfal99
- Tools should be banned too. You can kill a lot of people with them if you wanted. Fuck it ban everything that can kill. Pencils, gobstoppers, everything.CygnusZero4
- resorting to weapons already i seealbums
- ... kitchenware, everything.CygnusZero4
- peopel would think twice if they had to bludgeon with blunt objects to killmonospaced
- Every knife should be banned. It's a deadly weapon.CygnusZero4
- I'd be happy if people HAD to use knives. Better than assult rifles.monospaced

Ironically one of the previews featured someone opening fire on people in a movie theatre

I'm waiting for FOX news, the tea baggers and NRA members to twists this into a pro gun ownership issue like they did with Gabrielle Giffords incident. "if more people were armed they could have protected themselves from this tragedy"
- if the guy didnt have 4 weapons with him in the first place it wouldn't have mattered.severian

Yes imagine a shootout between multiple gun enthusiasts and the attacker in a crowded theatre full of people and babies with tear gas
- what could POSSIBLY go wrong?locustsloth
- now spend as much time and devote all that cynicism to war.albums
- well that comment took about 3 sec to think up and write so... ... ... DONE!locustsloth

it's a mistake to over simply the problem of gun violence by responding in a solution of outlawing firearms. Take a look at the nations drug legislation and you'll see it does very little to curb drug activity. Shit, drug abuse is not only high in illegal substances but also prescription / so called controlled substances.
also look at nations that do outlaw guns, they too have gun violence. why isnt that number zero? people are simply going to use guns.
the problem is deeper than "take'em guns away" and most advocacies don't even offer real world logistical solutions. look, the guns are already out there, making them illegal or forcing voluntary incentives is a 100 year late response.
i've think the solution is in the ammo. since the guns are already in circulation, why not track the bullets (rfid) the technology is possible and in use in other industries. (as in tracking individual units instead of or/with lots) today, you can buy up to 1 metric ton of ammunition without having federal involvement and even after that ton you can circumvent most federal interviews.
it's the lobbist we must confront.

- late or not, it's at least a response, but saying it's too late and we shouldn't bother is just ... ugh, infuriatingmonospaced
- the idea of asking the government to take something away is a poisonous abstractionantagonlsta
- taking away devices designed SOLELY for killing humans and getting away with it is necessary, IMOmonospaced
- not the only poisonous abstraction I see is saying that modern guns are a right to bear and ownmonospaced
- do you see any value in gun ownership? any reason to have recreationaly?antagonlsta
- for hunting purposes, sure, but nobody needs an automatic weapon, iMOmonospaced
- and there lies the problem with our gun laws. it has to accommodate law abiding citizens.antagonlsta
- a law abiding citzen doesn't need a gun made for killing peoplemonospaced
- idk what you mean by that. what are you suggesting. baseball bats can be used for killing, yet not designed to.antagonlsta
- people use automatic weapons for industrial farming uses. they use auto for hunting. what WE say they should use is a different discussionantagonlsta
- a different discussionantagonlsta
- but i agree with you. legislation for striker automatic ownership is needed.antagonlsta
- I need a fully automatic gun like some guy needs a Ferrari over a Yugo. Simply because.albums

I hate to say this but some people should commit suicide.. why go out of your way to hurt the world because of your own miserable existence? Have some dignity, reason with yourself, and then rid the world of yourself before you hurt anyone else.. Many people look at suicide as weak and uncalled for - but we should reconsider this - what if that person was on the verge of committing a mass suicide?

Someday we will have drugs to control all this...also computers monitoring our brain for signs of mental illness

Fast forward to 1:10. This guy was in the theater, and quotes Dark Knight, and compared what happened here to the movie.

children shooting guns, blame the guns.
children using drugs, blame Mexico.Maybe if American parents actually spent time raising their kids instead of letting TV raise them, just so they could "keep up with the Joneses" kids wouldn't feel the need to either lash out or get numb because its either one or the other.
target the disease not the symptom.
