I like the coverage of Le Tour on ITV4 and if I'm working from home I'll have the Euro Sport coverage on in the background. But Le Tour will always sound like this:
Little known Tour fact: Laurie Laughlin, of Rad and Full House fame, once followed the entire race and pleasured herself to climax inside a portable toilet near every single finish line. C'est magnifique!
Who's in the lead?
Did he dope?
Ha! My wife thought the Tour was a "loop" around France in which they rode every day until they were too tired, then camped or stayed in a hotel or something and just got a few hours sleep, then back on the bike to ride some more. Seriously, I am not making this up.
nails. someone threw fucking nails
Main GC contenders getting flats at the top of the mountain... whoooops!
Schleck, you fucking cunt.
I like this:
Wednesday's stage runs through the so-called "Circle of Death" along four brutal climbs — none more daunting than the 7,000-foot Tourmalet. On Thursday, the last summit finishes atop the 5,300-foot Peyragudes.
Wiggins is talking a big game in his bid to become Britain's first Tour de France champion. He says Wednesday's stage "isn't any more difficult than any other stage we've done up to this stage, really."
Wiggins said the Tourmalet was nothing special.
"It goes uphill like all the others, doesn't it?" he said.
Most boring Tour in living memory...
Hoping for some action in the mountains today but not holding my breath.
Allez allez allez
Nibali must feel like he's in a horror film or a bad dream. He keeps attacking and the Sky boys just slowly but surely catch him up like zombies or Frankensteins monster.
It does show what a high average speed they are riding up those climbs though. It may not be pretty, but you have to ride to your strengths and I'm fairly sure Wiggins is going to be the first British winner now.
It's as much a part of a real summer as Wimbledon (and the first 2 big brothers).
Wasn't really slowly and surely today, when Nibali attacked they caught him within a short space of time, they just didnt let him get that far ahead, in the last km wiggo just upped his pace when he really needed to and Nibali didn't have the legs to do more.
Really enjoyed the final climb today, glad those 3 are battling it out for the podium places. I prefer the attacking style of Nibali (more pantani esq) to Wiggins style but with his great TTing he fully deserves to win. i'll be glad of a British winner and an Anglo Italian podium.
Team Sky have controlled it all the way...
Never really been a big contest for the GC this tour. Would've been a lot more interesting in Froome & Wiggo were on different teams.
Wiggins you poor sod.
