If it's comparable in quality to ikea furniture I would imagine that in 6 months time the screen will start to fade, the frame will sag and seams will begin to reveal electronics, while every capacitor and transistor burns out with an alarming rapidity.

This could be a good strategy. I might not know what I'm talking about. But, perhaps there's a significant population of design-conscious consumers pining for an affordable alternative to Bang & Olufsen systems.

Just moved out of the IKEA stage of my life – that furniture is shit. Moving around Brooklyn for 8 years i can attest that none of that particle board crap can last more than 2 moves.
