well, even if it is a fraud, and a lost cause, it's a good experiment on how people can organize and directly influence the government in new ways
- that's one thing they got right, the internet can be used as a powerful tool and as a voicemonospaced

oh for fuck sake.. some of you are just unbelievable.
They are not "asking" for donations. If you feel you want to give out they tell you what they use money for. For promotions, raising awareness. if you don't want to give it, he clearly states just share the word and help influence the government to keep helping catch this fucker.
If you don't want to participate or you don't like it, you don't have to do shit as you have probably never done.
I have a few girl friends who work for invisible children and have been in Africa. They are doing massive good there and are not "frauds" as some of these dipshits are calling them.

spread the effort over many issues rather than focussing one one
- you ever tried to pay 6 debts of at once? It doesn't work. Focus on one then move on to the next.moniker
- children dying in many wars - liberia for example... spread the lovefadein11
- and for the record i am paying 7 debts off bit by bit currently and its working finefadein11

At this stage of the movement, the organizers are clearly more concerned with raising awareness than raising capital. They seem to have their strategy in order, and it appears they don't need money as much as they need people to be pushing their governments to get involved and stay involved.

if anything it will make Amnesty etc. step up their game... but can't help feeling such a global effort could be used on a wider issue or group of issues not just one.

It feels too slick. Trying to be too "cool". I'm in agreement with the cause of bringing this asshole down but it's just too much. Order an "action kit", wear are trendy bracelet, hang up a shitty version of a Shepard Fairey poster. It's riding on the back of Occupy... that faded off and left "activists" wondering 'now what do I talk about?' (but not actually follow through in any way).
- You clearly don't get it.non
- um... I'd have to agree with MHDC... there is too much money involvedspot13

Haven't watched it, don't really care. If a social media campaign and video is what it takes to motivate people to give a crap about something, fine, that's their right, and that's a good thing. But I wonder if the same people ever stop to realize the immeasurable injustices and suffering going on in our own backyards? Would they lift a finger to help causes that aim to end homelessness in their own country? Help those out of work? Help single mothers? Help the elderly?
I'm not equating this Kony guys' murderous tendencies with homelessness or single motherhood; I just think that people should look around their own immediate place in the world and see what they can do. Sending money to some crew of people in California to do what exactly with it to help keep creating awareness about Kony and not really doing anything to stop him seems like a total waste of my money, and a complete uncertainty. I'd be 100X better off donating clothes I don't wear to a homeless shelter, or donating to a food pantry.
