Public masturbator Jason Russell apparently stole footage for KONY video, from this video called "Cassini Mission":
It's on the very beginning of the "KONY (horNY) 2012 video":

'Kony 2012' Exec Joked About Keeping $900k Donation for Himself

Rooting out the evil's of the world has been the responsibility of good men since time out of mind. It is an endless and eternal struggle.
Personally I am torn about this viral experiment. On one hand, removing the world's Terrible Evil's can't be such a bad thing. The Human Race can and should take responsibility for taking the bad seeds out of the equation so that everyone the world over should enjoy personal freedom and liberties. That's a wonderful and beautiful idea.
But on the other, Kony is simply a symbol of the world's Evil. A reminder that it exists in this world and will continue to exist well after he is removed from power.
I believe good cannot exist without evil. In very much the same way light cannot exist without dark; if one were to exist without the other we would never had the privilege experiencing the difference. And perhaps most importantly, one derives purpose from the other. If the Kony's/Hitler's/Etc., of the world had never existed we might not ever have appreciated what we have in front of us to begin with.
- and that's me waxing philosophical. I agree with the intention of the cause.d_rek

Should I Donate Money to Kony 2012 or Not? http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/s…

I dont understand why people are hating on this video dude... yes I mean maybe they are making some money out of it... but I mean if they are dedicating all this time and effort to make this happen they still need to eat and feed their kids... and yes I know this is only one bad thing that happens in the world but this video can show us the power of fucking facebook and the internet and social network. They are not really asking to donate money but to spread awareness of this issue, and hopefully it will be solve and encourage others to use the internet to solve other fucked up issues we have. We are all creatives, and I know thhis is just a magnificent video that gave me goose bumps and made me share it with my friends and family. I would give a couple of dollars to the dude that made it not just because its a great video but because its a good cause. The End

The biggest tragedy of this, regardless of whether its 'right' or 'wrong' is that this 'exciting new world of global interconnectedness' has a drawback that equalises out its power.
35 million people engaged with this campaign last Thursday. That's the upside. That's a previously impossible reach.
Its Monday however, and this already feels like 'old news', and we're hungry for the next fuck up to go viral in an engaging way. Just to get us through this week with a little bit of distraction from the hum drum reality of middle class life in the west.

^ that - I can see more internet memes than action coming from the whole campaign.
- still something is something.

I'm with Horp on this one - already seems like flavour of the month... I was kind of hoping they'd continue to drive this bus a just a little harder, so to speak: daily updates, current events - anything to keep the spin spinning and fully saturated. Regardless, this approach seems to be where we are headed for the foreseeable future; crowd sourced, flash mobbed, in-your-Facebook. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out - the April date's success will tell the tale..

How can people be negative about this. This is the sad state of this world. People complaining about a SUCCESFUL campaign AGAINST a fucking piece of shit SOB.
People who bitch about these initiatives should be slapped around.
