Good things: no more notes in Mail (stop screwing with my IMAP accounts!), dropping the stupid i from things (Calendar, etc), and Game Center I guess?
Bad: I expect more animations, Launchpad and Mission Control probably can't be disabled, gotta remember to disable Gatekeeper, and sharesheets... WTF. Can't they just remind everyone that there's a SERVICES menu with endless easy scripting ability (and then maybe overhaul it, so that all the good stuff isn't buried in a menu item nobody looks at).
- Oh, and AirPlay = good. Resolution might be a problem, but it's appreciated.ismith
- Airplay looks amazing in fact. May get an apple tv just for this.inteliboy
- Airplay in general is great. And with an autosense HDMI switcher that is setup right, it's magic.ETM
- Also very fun to push a porn video up in the middle of the wife's bloody reality shows.ETM

How's about they fix the iOS 5 iPad2 wifi fiasco? Long and short of it - I have a router that my iPad 1, iPhone 4, PS3, Powerbook, Macbook, Windoze laptop, Newton, Speak 'n Spell all recognize and connect without fail. The iPad 2 refuses to connect even though it shows it's connected. Tried zillions of combinations in my router settings. There's a 90+ page thread in the Apple Support forums about it and no solutions, except to await a new iOS update of course. Which has been overdue for like 3 months now. First world problems in the house yo.
- return iPad 2 or get a new router?ernexbcn
- dozens of minions did the return and swap and all with issues again. router is telus standard issue.prophetone
- my options are wait patiently for ios update like a mac wizardboy or get an airport express and piggy back...prophetone
- my beef is why should i spend $$$ when it's clearly an ipad2 hissy fit. all the othere devices are like whatevs... connectedprophetone
- the whole point of this device is to be able to go forth into the wild and grab wifi abroad, anywhere...prophetone
- but instead it's likely a snobby supermodel who doesn't want extra 802.11n on her mocha frap 'n freaks outprophetone

if as someone stated a page ago, if this allows mirroring from your mac to your television, that will be worth the upgrade right there. seriously, i've been waiting for this for a while (if fact mono and i were discussing this in a note in some random apple thread like last week).
- with apple tv of course. not just to any old tv hahalvl_13

Btw,
Is it possible to disable "Version" in Lion so it will not consume space on HDD?
- versions only works in Apple apps for now. I doubt it's consuming that muchanimatedgif

"The flat-headed cat (Prionailurus planiceps) is a small wild cat"
OS X releases are named after BIG CATS not small cats.

im on osx snow leopard on a macbook(core duo 2 gigherz, macbook 3,1 for conaisseur) that officially can be upgraded to 2gig of ram and unoficially to 6gigs, got it now with 2,5gig ram, runing smooth with xcode 4.2
- i_was0
coming from the pc world, i think osx is really a great OS , one nice option would be to have a pref or more prefs(if this cant be easily synthetize) to enable or disable OS animations, for ex a pref maybe that devs would chose to have the whole system without fancy animation.
- anyway not really a big prob is just that sometimes in xcode some slides in and stuff just anoys me a biti_was

one thing that got my attention is the way the capacity of the hard disk changes when viewing its info(and havent made any changes to the HD), sometimes its capacity grows up (i got a little HD) today it shows 37 gig available but yesterday it was less, anyway is this some kind of bug(on snow leopard)
- OS uses hard drive to store some of your RAM content and swaps when needed. You said you only had 2.5GB :)raf
- oh yes must be thati_was
- applications cache data too, which might have been emptied. But virtual ram can use a lotanimatedgif
- prophetone0
not sure yet if this affects my mac pro but this will suuuuuuck if mine is a paperweight. this is how they get ya. then things like xcode will magically only be compatible with the latest os, which forces a hardware upgrade. get ready to bust out the kleenex if you have an old-ish apple system and require the latest os.
- So my less than 3 yr old Pro just scrapes in. I don't mind the pace of technology but that's almost cntish.MrT
- i_was0
yes and dont forget +99 dollars when buying your mac or you wont have access to the developper forum.
- Used to cost way more than that a few years back. So not a bad deal really.animatedgif
- You'll get mountain lion included in that too btwanimatedgif

No support for early Intel MacPro... that sucks. Especially when the newer line isn't worth upgrading to other than a new OS.
