The glitching and synth sounds are live played from the plinky12 directly into the torso s4. Then out and recorded into a zoom recorder.

so picked up a second sub yesterday.. was second hand but first owner and barely used..
i now have 2x 15inch subs and 2x 15inch top boxes..

I am looking for a simple entry level synth or beatmachine for my son (9 years).
I have a teenage engineering PO 12, but that thing is too complicated and the display doesn't make sense for a kid.Any suggestions other than the blipblox after dark?

- A Volca sample can be grabbed cheap. Very easy & immediate. Approachable. Perfect for a 9YO exploring beats and sequencing IMOletterhead

I had some of the Roland Aira Compacts that my kids 7&9 loved fiddling with and tweaking. They could do basic stuff with presets and tweak to their hearts content. Programming synth patterns was way over their heads but they could program beats on the T-8.Roland 101 grooveboxes can be pretty complicated and menu-dive-tastic.
Would the older TE OP-1 be a good shout? Pricey but real simple and all synths etc have illustrations to show parameter changes.
if you have an iPad then there's plenty of good grooveboxes to be had cheaply - also good ol' ReBirth! (2x 303 1x808 1x909).
The sampler app Koala is something my kids grasped pretty fast.
The beauty of apps is they dont cost much, they can try many things, synths, samplers, granular sampling and see what floats their boat.Me and the kids did a 1 song gig last year, it was a song we composed together in Logic on iPad. My 9yo daughter was starting to understand Logic. I think knowing about DAWs and how to 'build' songs is a pretty decent thing for them to be learning if they like making music.
