My youngest son (14 months) is going through an intense Daddy phase. While it's annoying that I can't do anything without holding him (brewing coffee one-handed is not easy), it melts my heart when he runs to me through a crowd of people with a big grin on his face, saying "heeeeey." :)

One Saturday this summer, we went blackberry as a family. My oldest son (3) loves blackberries, just like his old man. He of course had to have his own bucket. He was walking around with his bucket, shoving blackberries into his mouth as quickly as possible. Never had more than a few blackberries in his bucket. When I told him they needed to go in his bucket and not his belly, he said "No no, wit's [sic] ok, Daddy. Dey're good." As if that explained everything...

My 9 year old daughter yesterday announced that I had 'devils head' syndrome, and proceeded to continue the conversation by using only the words 'devils head', but maintaining all other aspects of normal speech - intonation, body language, etc. Almost immediately she contracted 'What's Fled?', and we continued for 20 minutes getting dinner ready using only the words 'devilshead' and 'What's Fled?'.

Any advise for a father to be? (practical or otherwise)
Uncharted territory ahead.
- Nope. The best part is learning it all, every kid is unique, getting to know who they are is the thing. Doing stuff for them is 2ry.mikotondria3
- dont worry... thats my best advice, just go with the flow!cruddlebub
- dont let his mum eat cauliflowers - it makes small babies cry :'(

8 month old wee boy did his first bit of shoplifting yesterday.
Were getting a Gruffalo book for his big sister so the focus was on her. We paid for the book, get out the shop and along the road only to see the wee one in his pram swirling a mini gruffalo book with teether attached around.
Must've liked the look of it and swiped it off the shelf and stashed it until he got outside!
Clever boy! lol.

Was driving my daughter to an inter-school academic challenge the other day. Lot's of traffic and I could see she was pretty nervous. She became more and more quiet as we drove. I asked a few times if he was OK, and she just nodded. Then....
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAARF
All over the front seat, her legs, the floor, her school bag. FFS, it was gross.
She does a few spits on the floor and then proclaims "phew, I feel much better now Dad".
I was so proud...
