It seems the main pro gun rationale spouted is that many people use guns for sport.
Well yes, that is all good and is the only reason I use one. The reason I OWN a handgun is to come out on top when push comes to shove and you decide to try and hurt me and my own.

this is why i like airsoft. i get to play with identical steel reproductions with all the fun fieldstripping and whatnot PLUS i get to hunt and shoot people and get away with it

you honestly think comparing car deaths to gun deaths is a valid argument v3? cars are essential for a huge number of people. they rely on them to get to work, buy supplies, move about the country. guns serve no such purpose.
the simple fact remains, the less control you place on gun ownership the more likely you are to be shot dead. good luck arguing otherwise.
