After reading all the anti-american gun ownership based of fear anger aggression etc etc, Those posters come across more ignorant than the country you aim to complain about. the broad generalization of guns in america is a weak argument at best. My guess is no member of this board has ever used a gun in a detrimental or harmful manner toward another human being. in fact, i would presume that most gun owners here are in it more for the sport than the possibility of having to use it on another human being.
it's extremely apparent that the ones who are proud to own and use guns in america for hunting or recreation are not the ones using them for crimes. the fact that ignorance lumps a collective 307 million+ into one group, and for todays idiotic argument any american touching on the subject must be a fear mongering gun brandishing bad guy.
last year 9,146 people died of gun deaths, naively assuming all those were committed by a different individual, that still leaves over 307 million plus non offenders of gun crimes
so given a population of 307,000,000 exactly for the lowest possible number... 9,146 out of 307 million is a whopping .003 % of the population
fear them, they are scary, every american is out to get you....

If they don't like something, they don't think anyone else should like it. They think there is no reason to own a gun outside of killing someone, that someone can't own a gun without having the intent to fucking kill another human, lolzzzzzz. They also don't think there is any chance anyone could break in their house, therefore they get mad at those that just want to make sure their family is protected. Home invasions happen in every state every single day. If my number comes up, I dont feel like running to the fucking kitchen for a knife. That doesn't make me a homicidal maniac, it ensures my family will always be safe no matter what some deranged maniac decides to do. Nothing at all wrong with that. I'm not paranoid, I dont have trouble sleeping, I dont even think about it until it's brought up.
Hell, some of these idiots dont even know some people actually enjoy shooting guns as a legitimate hobby! Unreal. This is how stupid people can be on the internet.

the problem with left/right is people choose 1 side and stick with all their decisions whether their right or wrong. its proven that states with the least gun laws have a lot less crime. think about it. gun laws only make it hard for the honest citizen to have the ability to protect himself. criminals dont buy their guns at gun shops. perfect example, Mexico, the general public here is fucked, narcos are armed to the teeth while its illegal for the average citizen to own a gun.

I can understand that firing a gun as a sport / discipline at a target might be satisfying. I can understand that in a controlled environment like a shooting range, guns don't pose a threat to anybody else or make wider society a more dangerous place.
I don't understand how anybody could think that allowing everybody to take their guns home with them after the've been at the range could not make a society more dangerous.

dont want to hurt you registe. i know many people have guns only for "playing" with them at the shooting range. But you never know when a normal guy will go crazy after his girlfriend cheated on him and decide to shoot and kill her new boyfriend.
You never know when a normal guy lose his job and his wife, fall into a deep depression and decide to shot himself in the garage. The gun was just there in the closet...
Its pretty easy to understand, the more guns a country has, the more accidents and killing will occurs.

You pull a gun on an intruder with a gun - do the chances of someone being shot go up or down? Do the chances of you being shot go up or down?
Does the ongoing proliferation of guns make it more or less likely that somebody will use one aginst you? Does it make it more likely that an intruder will carry a gun if he decides to break into your home? - knowing that the chances of you being armed are increasing exponentially.
