Talisker and Oban are on my list too.. they look rather interesting. I think Talisker will be good.
Never had Rye whisky.... still have years left to explore whisky!
- Try the Yamizaki as well. Japan makes a great single malt.TheBlueOne
- I've never even considered it to be honest! Will do.. cheersMojo

THe Macallen - Cask Strength.
Totally kicks my flabby white ass.- Kicks your ass? You drink at 60%? Isn't that a waste?Mojo
- Macallan is a bit too woody for me..Mojo
- Concur about Macallen's woodiness...TheBlueOne
- yeh, I just drizzle it over some ice and slowly sip the resulting fluid. It is a massive flavor and I have to be in the right mood.mikotondria3

I always have a bottle smooth, golden Glenrothes.
As well as a smoky Oban.Islay scotches are for once in a while occasions. I'm not man enough to inhale all that smoke and salty peat.

I've had a few scotches with TBO - the stuff he drinks smells like a campfire. He gave me a nice list to start with... I need to pick up a bottle, I enjoyed it.
- btw we need to hang soon. You wanna try some ramen for lunch this week?TheBlueOne

- Never had Jp scotch - any broad based comparisons to be made for that country's product overall ?mikotondria3
- No such thing as Japanese scotch. It's either from Scotland or it's whiskey (as the bottle says) ;)ETM
- ha, of course.
Well ?mikotondria3 - http://jason-scotchr…TheBlueOne

Aberlour a'bunadh. The best scotch I've ever tasted. Cask strength, but easy to drink.

i have the yamazaki

Oban, seems my most likable whisky.
I do need to drink more however

Oban is good. So's Dalwhinnie, although it's on the mild side for my taste. Glenfiddich's 18 yr is pretty good for one of the more mainstream single malts.

Balvenie 12 Year Doublewood is my favorite everyday scotch.
Also currently drinking:
Oban 14 Year
Caol Ila 12 yearThe absolute best I've ever had was the Balvenie 12 Year Signature from 2010. It was amazing.

Right, this isn't a single malt - but stay with me here - it's amazing and only $37 a bottle.
Whyte and Mackay Glasgow Special.
I used to be a single malt snob until I tried this. It's lekker!
