- haha, yeh, single malt isn't anything to be rushed. Certainly never drink it to get drunk. I just gently nurse mine, last ages.mikotondria3

tried the balvenie doublewood as it gets a lot of praise on here, but preferred highland park 12 which i found smoother

I so need to have a Scottish whisky holiday. Travel to Islay, Jura etc. Mmm.

Right, this isn't a single malt - but stay with me here - it's amazing and only $37 a bottle.
Whyte and Mackay Glasgow Special.
I used to be a single malt snob until I tried this. It's lekker!

Balvenie 12 Year Doublewood is my favorite everyday scotch.
Also currently drinking:
Oban 14 Year
Caol Ila 12 yearThe absolute best I've ever had was the Balvenie 12 Year Signature from 2010. It was amazing.

Oban is good. So's Dalwhinnie, although it's on the mild side for my taste. Glenfiddich's 18 yr is pretty good for one of the more mainstream single malts.
