mine is from like 2006 I think maybe 2007 I dont remember... but Im so ready for a new one... the thing is that I paid almost 2K dor my macbook pro 17 in and I know if I sell it now I will get shit... So maybe I keep my laptop for pleasure and buy a new imac for work.

So what's the short of it regarding the new 15" pro then? Is it a big leap? I've never been that interested the gubbins inside various tech. It's a tools to do the job which what my iBook G4 has been doing very well for years with no issues but it's time to upgrade as I dropped it and it went pop! It's only used for meetings and working on site so no huge loss but does need replacing.
Oh and just for the record, I've never owned a PC in my life. Learnt on a Mac Classic then bought a Quadra 650, then G3 desktop etc.. So no not to be one of the cool kids. Just because I think they work without me worrying about the tech.

I'm not sure but are there many 'thunderbolt' peripherals out already? or is it something apple is betting on? It's a good to have faster data transfers but in reality, a common user is not going to transfer gigs of information to and from their computer. Thunderbolt seems useless at the moment and similar to electric scissors, see video.
I will conceed that apple's marketing team is great.
