Advertised battery time went down from 9-10 hours down to 7. Apple claims it is due to a change of the way they measure it.
So what were your real world battery usage times with latest MBPs?

do people think the SSD drives are worth the exorbitant price?

Do these new MBP actually have Quad Core i7's with HT for 8 virtual cores?
I kinda feel ripped for buying last year's model thinking that their "i7" was going to be something similar to my 8 thread i7 950.

getting the industry to jump on a new technology must be a bureaucratic nightmare -- see blu-ray vs hd-dvd. props to apple & intel for giving it a shot.
- oppose to blu-ray vs hd-dvd, i don't think they're trying to make it as an industry standard. just a faster way to tranfser large datadijitaq

The USB Implementers Forum -- which oversees the evolution of that ubiquitous variety of connectors -- put out a statement last summer that did not sound particularly friendly to Light Peak. "USB connectors are not general purpose connectors and are not designed to be used in support of other technology applications or standards or as combo connectors," the group said.
so, USB said no.
