The point, to me, is being able to see the actor- and actresses pores.
That's right, I feed off of broken dreams.

The difference is massive. The difference in experience is massive. Why do we go to a cinema to watch a film rather than wait for it to be on tv or dvd? Better experience.
- i think the last movie i saw in a cinema was... star trekbjladams
- Worth noting regarding HD:
Many films are still shot in...film.Peter - I meant more the hightened experience at the cinemax rather than the high quality.

People got suckered into buying HD sets that showed the SD on its monitor looking like shit, thus they had to move to HS signal so their programing didn't look like total crap. Watch anything on older SD TV and you will see pristine picture...
- unless of coarse you watch real HDTV. that was problem when HD was actually newDodecahedron
- real HD looks like real SD on SD TV.pr2
- no.Dodecahedron
- haha! You r kidding me, right?pr2
- no. HD looks sweet, you're nuts.Dodecahedron
- only when fed HD signal, being fed SD signal it looks worst then my cat's poop.pr2

More rendering time for computers and new screens/TVs so the electronic compartment won't halt at the end of this year and there will be no another economic crisis and you'll be able to have your bonus this xmas.
And more than 5 more times detail, as the graph above states.

So much misinformation, here...
LCD/plasma work very differently then regular tube TV screen. The first two are designed for details (thus they are perfect for reading text off of it) while the second is design to project the analog signal. Thus they always sucked to show detail (remember trying to read with WebTV?), but are fantastic to watch any programing. Thus using the resolution only comparison is absolutely misleading. It's like saying that a machete is always best because it's so much bigger then a normal knife but so what if you still wouldn't use it to peel a potato.
- You're talking about readability...most people are talking about live sports and moviesDodecahedron
- same relates to those, put two 30 inch displays next to each other: HD being fed HD signalpr2
- and SD being fed either SD or HD and they will look equally awesome.pr2
- except half the image would be missing if you put an HD feed into a SD tvDodecahedron
- I think difference would be obvious anywayDodecahedron

The reality is that a lot of people can't seem to see the difference in HD. This does not mean that SD is as good as HD. It just means that some people can't see it. Not sure why.
I've shown people the difference side by side comparison (and pointing out specifically what they should be noticing) and sometimes they honestly don't.
But if you can see it, then you know. 1080p source on a 1080p screen is superb.

No such thing! How long is a piece of string!
- A piece of string is any length of string smaller than a spool. As long as you want it to be.honestIy
