    So much misinformation, here...

LCD/plasma work very differently then regular tube TV screen. The first two are designed for details (thus they are perfect for reading text off of it) while the second is design to project the analog signal. Thus they always sucked to show detail (remember trying to read with WebTV?), but are fantastic to watch any programing. Thus using the resolution only comparison is absolutely misleading. It's like saying that a machete is always best because it's so much bigger then a normal knife but so what if you still wouldn't use it to peel a potato.

    • You're talking about readability...most people are talking about live sports and moviesDodecahedron
    • same relates to those, put two 30 inch displays next to each other: HD being fed HD signalpr2
    • and SD being fed either SD or HD and they will look equally awesome.pr2
    • except half the image would be missing if you put an HD feed into a SD tvDodecahedron
    • I think difference would be obvious anywayDodecahedron
