*Please. This is not an invitation for a debate. The QBN community has enough of those already.*
I have a 35 slide flash module (as2) that my client is requesting to be translated into HTML5. The majority of the lesson is static image, simple animation, and text drawn from XML. A few slides contain multiple choice questions and it is scripted for a LMS.
What are the necessary steps to make that happen?
Please be specific if you reply. I'm not fluent in web technologies.

maybe. but it's a client request and i need to provide an answer... even if it's an answer he doesn't want to hear. i need to back it up.

Its quite a long conversation - needs a meeting

...figured it would be a complete rework into a different technology. i'm not lookin' for every answer... just a "where would you start?"

static images, text from xml, multiple choice...why was that coded in as2 in the first place anyway.
I would just propose to rewrite it in html4 with some javascript/jquery or gif-anims for the animations.

Like uan said, HTML5 not required, just Javascript. There are many preexisting plugins that exist for this that are really easy to set up and tweak. Here's a good one to get started:

"not fluent in web technologies"
Never understand how people without the knowledge are allowed into positions where they can get asked questions like this.

I don't know why I feel like I need to defend myself, but here it goes.
Because I don't have the desire to learn every new technology or programming language as soon as it's released doesn't make me under-qualified for my position.
I'm a print designer with a great working knowledge of flash animation, and a modest understanding of AS2 (self taught). My work looks good and it meets the needs of my clients. They're happy and I'm getting paid. Does it need to be any more complicated than that?
ukit, instrmntl thanks for the produtive responses.
- You'll always get a lot of help here and also a lot of chumps. Hang in there.CyBrain
