^ Democracy's beauty is in that it gives people an illusion of power and sheds the blame for failures on those individuals who voted/din't vote as if they mattered. It actually gives power to the people: the dumb majority who are easiest to steer.

There were a gang of people in line and I thought "oh fuck" and then I found out that was the line to register. I was already registered and was in and out in about 3 minutes.
One thing I noticed and have noticed in the past. There are always a few gorgeous little election official ladies at the polling place.

I didn't vote.
I'm tired of the bullshit mudslinging.

They didn't vote because they have Facebook and Twitter to updates and it takes time, YOU KNOW! Voting is for stupid people, Y'KNOW!
Not voting is actually the most stupid thing a person can do. This is your ONLY (almost) power to control a little piece of your pathetic existence.

I can't understand not voting. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I am glad we don't have a law making people vote though, it slows down the slide to Idiocracy a bit.
- You touched an interesting subject. Democracy is idiocracy by definition, as most people are ignorami/morons.raf

People take the risk of getting killed in some countries just for voting. They want to vote.
People in Americaz are so fuckin lazy surfing on the web, eating potato chips and drinking Coke that they convince themselves that they have ''good reasons'' for not voting. Fuck that! All the World would want your votes, since USA's actions have repercussions on all the f'n Globe.- Very true and sad. I just heard that voter turnout for City of Detroit was 14% of the registered voters.d_rek

Telling people you didn't vote doesn't make you "punk" or anything with your useless "civil disobedience"... it just make you stupid.

I live in england, I have US nationality and i go out of my way to get my overseas ballot and vote. People who don't vote are ungrateful idiots who mistake 'being different' and 'letting a shower of c***s get in to run your country and influence the world'
- studderine0
your vote has been bought and sold many times over. don't fool yourself into thinking ANYONE in gov't is looking out for your best interests. presidential elections have been won with pure diebold shadiness.
- how does one get into that business?pango
- metaphorically speaking, no one is literally buying your votes; oh wait, they might as well...studderine

So, did you vote typhoid or cholera? Do you ever think why in a country of hundreds of millions you only get two options, none of them good?

- and you showed 'em by voting! go tell your congressman and you get ready for them to listen!!studderine
- Actually, my Congressman represents the district's views pretty well. What was your point again?ukit

I wish voting was easier. When I voted during the presidential election, finding a place to vote was confusing... then I found I turned up at the wrong place (after waiting in line) and had to do some absentee ballot, which wouldn't be counted for a week or two later. Meanwhile of course the new president is announced that night. So did my vote count? No! ...and it pisses me off for having one small mistake of going to one place a mile away from my “official place” that made me vote useless.... :/
