Love it or hate it, any campaign that sparks a discussion like this is successful.

It's not successful if you're not buying their pants and shit.....im not

Giving a bit more thought, I would say the rational is impeccable in a way, and surely the one who came up with the idea was rather clever.
If we talk about stupid people, they must to be easy to influence, would they? Specially by praising them.
So, the stupid pays for the overpriced denim and goes home happy, and the clever make shitloads of money.
Brillant!

^ Agreed, its is more engaging but do you not think its a bit sad that they have to rely on, albeit ironical, promoting stupidity.
Just to be clear, i really can see the merits in this campaign, and i can see the irony / double think but i just find it a bit depressing. This is more because of the people that will buy into it, sorry, another example from Nathan Barley:
Maybe i'm just old jaded.

Well, Diesel were doing the 'irony -> fashion vs. war' posturing thing back in the 90s.
Only this time around there really isn't anything remotely resembling opinion or content in their campaign.
There's no over-arching message. It's inoffensive. Marketing at it's most abstract -> the creation of impact via a vague, inoffensive, hook. By saying nothing, no one can really disagree.
I suppose, if the viewer tries to extrapolate _any_ meaning from the campaign, they might be able to come to the conclusion that they should 'have fun' and 'be spontaneous'. But it's really quite an uninspired concept.
Perhaps they're trying to be clever by challenging the established opinion that 'models are dumb' using complex double-irony!!
If I could, I'd fire the person responsible for the campaign.

No, noone wants to be stupid. Stupid is thoughtless and lacks comprehension.
What people strive to be is an "idiot", from the Greek "idios" meaning separate.
My brother and I were professional idiots for many years thanks to the overnighting possibilities presented by club culture in the late 90s.
Idiocy was a deconstruction of societal norms often presented as a brief one-liner, an elaborate cardboard model or the right glasses. More important was the selection of context. Without the insight to pick the right moment and identify the audience, all art is lost.
This stupid campaign is meaningless - it's trying too hard and failing to be witty and insightful. It doesn't make me think anything different about anything it shows, or even myself. It's irony without the iron.
It looks like it was done by someone who thought that drugs made them smarter.
And who is younger than me.
