No, noone wants to be stupid. Stupid is thoughtless and lacks comprehension.
What people strive to be is an "idiot", from the Greek "idios" meaning separate.
My brother and I were professional idiots for many years thanks to the overnighting possibilities presented by club culture in the late 90s.
Idiocy was a deconstruction of societal norms often presented as a brief one-liner, an elaborate cardboard model or the right glasses. More important was the selection of context. Without the insight to pick the right moment and identify the audience, all art is lost.
This stupid campaign is meaningless - it's trying too hard and failing to be witty and insightful. It doesn't make me think anything different about anything it shows, or even myself. It's irony without the iron.
It looks like it was done by someone who thought that drugs made them smarter.
And who is younger than me.
