No and yes and it's fixed already! Just posted the solution to any poor googeling souls who might have come across this thread.
- The videos and images will also assure anyone in distress about the same problem too, surely.kalkal
- what you posted sure doesn't sound like the source of the probelm or the solution....betelgeuse

- Why the hell would I lie?! The problem is fixed!kalkal
- what you posted doesn't fit the bill....betelgeuse
- I even took it into a photoshop to talk about it. They said there have been a couple of cases like this happen that they knew aboutkalkal
- sorry, camera shop!kalkal
- Anyway, problem solved and on the matter of cleanless, I take a lot of care with my equipmentkalkal
- And theres no mold growing or anything like that, no scratches etc.kalkal
- Let me just say, I discovered this months ago btw and I haven't had a problem since I've been keeping an eye on the aperture ring!kalkal
- the aperture ring!kalkal

so does this happen with other lens?
and is your lens clean? both the front element and back element?
- kalkal0
Oh, that's interesting though, how would you go about only changing the contrast of midtones? Never seen a tool to do that in photoshop. It's obviously all there for colours in "colour balance".
- curvesbetelgeuse
- I've only seen a tool specifically for this in Nik Color Efex (tonal contrast)kalkal
- Oh.
I almost thought I'd learn something new then :(kalkal

I know this is old but I think I figured out the problem. No, I didn't use any filters but there seems to be a slight defect with my lens.
It's possible for it to slide out of f22 to something between f22 and f16. This overexposes images yet it still works at this setting. The aperture lock on it is a bit dodgy.
I just make sure it's always set to f22 now. Problem solved.
- Oh and the overexposure seems to make the fringing worse on objects that wouldn't normally fringe all that badly.kalkal

are you using a UV filter?

It's aura, people or objects with aura.

27sec is an example of chromatic abberation.
Wide open iris and zoomed in on a a bright edgehttp://www.canon.com/bctv/produc…
"The new lens deploys Large Diameter Aspherical lens elements that contribute to a better control of comatic aberration, geometric distortion, and corner resolution. Curvature of field and chromatic aberrations have been reduced by use of special optical materials that include Fluorite and Hi-UD glasses."
- nthkl0
Chromatic Aberration. Depends on your lens/body sensor combo. A d90 with a 50mm 1.4 will see it as where a D3 with a 24-70mm 2.8 will not. Some bodies offer chromatic aberration reduction. And most of the upper echelon nikkor lenses are treated with Nano Crystal anti-reflection coating. This helps to reduce ghosting. A UV filter is a quick fix that can help to minimize environmental haze between you and your subject.

Lens problem. Chromatic Abberations. Either cheap lens or misaligned lens groups, either way it's phyisical and not software.
- vaxorcist0
possibly a cheap or messy UV filter too?
- DoTheMacarena0
like ok_not_ok said, get the 1.4 or just replace it. @ < $100 I wouldn't count on it holding up for more than a year or two anyway.
Or try the moisture thing. Also, is it more exaggerated around the corners, or even over the entire image?
- Also, try a different lens and see if you get the same issue... although I'd be surprised to find you do.DoTheMacarena

i heard this happens only with digital cameras
true?
