Beat it, solo by EVH:
texas flood, by stevie ray vaughan:

for the love of god, by Steve Vai:
Crossroads, eric clapton, cream:
Neon, john mayer, amazing acoustically:
Anything played by Birelli lagrene, in this case Spain by chick corea:
hmm, too many more to think of
- Ridiculously good.Noggin
- but it can't mask the wretched reality of the child-molesting, crotch-slapping, beatle-song selling, bitch-freak singing on this track.CyBrain
- steve Vai is increeeeeedible, and i love john mayer...cruddlebub

Pretty much every solo by Randy Rhoads on "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman" by Ozzy.

Anything on Derek and the Dominoes 'Layla'.
The interplay between Eric Clapton and Duane Allman is insane.
Start with 'Key to the Highway'

Any guitar solo that Derek Trucks plays, best slide player out there IMO:

Metallica, 'No Remorse' intro solo:
- Oh c'mon...Kirk? Really?TheBlueOne
- Yay, shredding.CygnusZero4
- Not sayin' Kirk is _always_ good; but I do really dig that intro.Continuity
- OK, I can except that. :)TheBlueOne
- Kirk does not "shred". He's not in the same zipcode as "shred"...TheBlueOne
- agreed, kirks's guitar is much better on death magnetic, quite good on Suicide & Redemption and All Nightmare Long.jaylarson

All great guitar players above - I was a huge GnR/Slash fan growing up - mostly why I got my first Les Paul - They played a show in Paris in 92 or 93 that I had on VHS (and wore out until it snapped) - Amazing solos in that show.
Looking back on this now - Axl is fucking comical - how many costume changes does one need in a song? Nice spandex btw.
- I was going to say I'd take Slash of Kirk Hammet for blues box wankery anydayTheBlueOne
- the blues pentatonic is like a favorite t-shirt!bulletfactory
